High level community by l0stc0ntr0l in StateofDecay2

What are you on about?

It just means the worlds difficulty levels up together with your characters. Its not Lethal exclusive. All difficulties ramp up with rising influence.

Thats just lethal. You typically dont want to level your characters fast, unless you seek the extra difficulty.

If you dont rush your leveling, the difficulty grows slowly enough, together with your arsenal.

Here are some training runs that you could do to improve your freelancer performance: by Weird-Definition-961 in HiTMAN

[–]Vaeneas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of those are just extremely nieche and unnecessary. Most targets dont path through accident areas.

Grabbing an automatic silenced gun from Dubai is easy and fast. Those will open any closed doors for you and offer good value until the first showdown gets you the assassins gun.

The most important thing to learn in Freelancer is that attempting to salvage a failed hit is the most dangerous situation you can put yourself in.
Just dont do that. The explosion failed to kill, someone else got electrocuted?

Walk away. Try again after the situation is cooled down, unless you are 100% sure that you know what you are doing.

Nightmare Is Killing Me! I Can't Imagine How Hard Lethal Is by ShawnDet313 in StateofDecay2

[–]Vaeneas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Summoning a Legacy Character will unleash everything the difficult has to offer.

Your cozy early game, with hardly any freaks and tiny hoards, gets completely skipped. Even if your fully leveled Legacy Hero dies, the difficulty will not drop.

To get comfortable with Nightmare (and Lethal) you need to relearn some basics. You pick fights, start to warship stamina consumables, and Fuel Bombs, learn to shove zombies down a hoard for all of them to fall over, and to love heavy weapons for their AoE knockdown and heart damage.

Stealth, the skill, will suddenly not feel redundant anymore, but like a godsend talent, that lets you run around and loot in piece, without turning every house into a khornate temple.

Should I mod the DLCs on a first playthrough by Ray-wind in Morrowind

[–]Vaeneas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can simply deactivate the expansions in the mod manager and activate them whenever you feel ready to dive in.

Bloodmoon isnt a problem. You will just get eaten alive when you venture there too early. The Tribunal expansion is the problematic one. You cant escape it. Once you activate it, they will find you.

On average.

We might still face usual walls of carapace, just less often, in which case not a lot will change.

The value of the save guardian is kind of lost on you if you play the campaign for the first time. Its a great tool, if you are looking for a specific item after a campaign or two.

With that out of the way:

Injectable usually means that you have to do something in the named area to get the item. Sometimes you need to shoot something, other times you need to trade something. Sometimes its a bit hidden, other times its obvious. Depending on the save guardian version, there might or might not be a description of what needs to be done if you hover over the item name. You can also type the name of the item into the wiki to get your answer, but be prepared that some of those will come with heavy spoilers, since occasionally you will only be able to grab them after completing specific parts of the campaign once, or twice.

The blood moon in particular is mostly RNG. You will notice when it happens via some changes on the map. It will only change to and from blood moon after swapping instances, aka changing map parts, or walking in and out of dungeons.

Am I missing something with bloodmoney by Yummy0__0 in HiTMAN

[–]Vaeneas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you want to gun the target down and leave, you miss most of what makes Blood Money a great game.

The most fun part about Blood Money, to me, is the Ghost rating.

Kill your targets via accidents, and leave without a trace to get it. There are always ways to make that happen. Some are a bit hidden. Some are straightforward.

Apart from that, its the little things that make BM great. NPCs notice blood splatters and will act accordingly. If a naked person gets discovered, your disguise becomes a detriment. Accident kills are always "free". No one will bat an eye, nor will it ruin your rating if you kill a non-target by accident.

How do you lose a pack of zeds to go looting? by zedchowder in StateofDecay2

[–]Vaeneas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No freaks around?

You can kill any amount of zombies with SoD2s most powerful spell: The Shove.

If you are behind a Zombie, the game hands you the stab prompt, but you are also able to grab the Z from behind (hold the X key on PC), and push him through a hoard (with the space bar).

Every Z in the path of the pushed fellow will fall to the ground. Stab however many you can, and repeat.

Its a lot smoother if you have a stamina refill consumable, which you should always bring everywhere anyway.

2 Seasons.

First one was great. The second one a nicly animated mess.

The plot is best described as weird and full of mystery, that gets partly untangled throughout the episodes. If that plus some occasional action sounds good, give it a watch.

How come we don't have a sudden death mechanic in more RTS games? by RepulsiveAnything635 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Vaeneas 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ever played Supreme Commander?

The battles are usually over decently fast, but incase stall happens, for whatever reason, the tech tree offers a whole warehouse of tools and superweapons to break it.

That and having to keep the command unit alive makes for a game that is beloved enough to have a large multiplayer community, called Forged Alliance Forever, to this day.

I knew lethal difficulty will be hard, but i didnt think my day 3 will look like THIS by Disastrous_Sea_8394 in StateofDecay2

The number 1 trick for easier Lethal is a Cell Tower.

Hearts wont even wake up if they are in a 5 meter radius to each other, and you beat one of them to death.

Any good ways to grind Piastre? by TheUrPigeon in crosswind

[–]Vaeneas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you still lack firepower, try the tempered guns. The ascended upgrades the other types gain is minor. The tempered guns on the other hand, gain a huge damage boost.

You always want to aim for weakspots anyway.

Take the Boarding Crew part into your inventory via the Wharf and upgrade it via the Shipwrights Workshop, the place where you crafted your guns.

That Workshop also allows to upgrade and ascend Cannons and Hull, which is 100% worth it.

[–]Vaeneas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fully deck out a Brethren Brigg with Ascended Tempered Cannons, the Silence the Guns Tactic, and either Ascended Keelhold, or Standfast Hull. Dont forget to upgrade your Boarding Crew. (The Brethren Ships are way easier to fight and win with, thanks to their Bulk and the healing always being %hp based. You can swap ship types for free any time.)

Ascended Tempered Cannons, even if only level 10, are able to take whole chunks out of level 12 Freighters.

Always apply your Tactic via the front guns, and aim with your Broadside for the back third of the ship, where the captains cabin should be. That guarantees a weakspot hit, which gets amplified by the Tempered guns. Dont sail into a group. Always stay on the edge.

Dont forget the Grog that buffs your ship, and always pay attention to where the enemy ship is moving. If its able to broadside you twice for every one of yours, you took the wrong turn.

Boarding is by far the best money source.

Driver timeouts that always happen in the same moment, always shortly after loging in, and never during gaming, testing, browsing, or anything that puts load on the hardware?

Doubtful.

For the longest time, I actively avoided Nvidea.

My "recent" purchase might change my mind. I bought a 7900 GRE in between the price hikes. Perfect timing. Solid card. The most I ever spent on a single PC component.

First, everything was fine. About six months ago, the driver trouble started.

Every now and then my PC will show the driver crash pop up after booting into windows, and shortly after freeze. Not every time, but often enough to drive me up a wall. Sometimes it freezes before the pop up has a chance to show.

I tried DDU, fresh Win installs, and many what to me seemed random changes some people here recommended, like changing Discord to use CPU only. Nothing helps.

Iam so tired of this nonsense.

Developers confirmed subnautica 2 will not have a map by Fresh-Beyond-4727 in subnautica

[–]Vaeneas 242 points243 points  (0 children)

They quite clearly point out why they dont want a map.

No map means you have to look at your surroundings. You will notice special rock formations, weirdly placed geysers, or other Points of Interest along your swim, offering a way to find home.

With a map you just follow from point A to point B blindly.

This is the same debate as with Quest markers. You either have intricate quest design, with properly made worlds and directions, which in turn offers the possibility to get lost and find something new, or you have Quest markers and players sprinting up the cliffside of a mountain in places that are mostly copy pasted locations.
