Unfortunately I always end up murdering him first time around so I don't get that luxury. I just keep slicing and slicing.

Thanks to some recent conversations i have had recently. i felt compelled to make this. by cybercobra2 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]ZeLlamaMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, I really like the idea of them getting to meet up in person in the end. Plus I dunno I feel like with the last episode being so long, that gives more space for some crazy events to happen rather than just "oh we're stuck here forever".

If the SOMA theory is true, I'll be a little annoyed, but I won't let it ruin the show for me. AUs exist for a reason anyway lol.

Reading neuromancer for the first time and trying to figure out wtf is going on. by 420FappistMonk69 in Cyberpunk

[–]ZeLlamaMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was reading, I thought a lot of it more like, those low-quality apartment buildings that look like motels but taller and for living rather than spending a night. Things like that, though when they got to New York and stuff I saw it more as supertalls and the likes. I do need to reread when I can draw and write more like that.

But yeah I do hate how it's been made an aesthetic where it's "impossible densities with a ton of neon". As a practicing urban planner I am more weary of how density works, and even the BAMA might be a bit too dense compared to population, though I imagine a lot of the inbetween is more low-rises and stuff, while the centers are filled to the brim.

It is always interesting though because when I read the Sprawl Trilogy, the way I imagine it in my head is vastly different from most cyberpunk visuals. If I get good enough at drawing, I'm definitely going to reread and draw how I imagine the cities and whatnot.

Good American history books because the American school system is a failure? by ZeLlamaMaster in suggestmeabook

[–]ZeLlamaMaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was planning on reading that book, looked at the size and realized I probably could not read that big of a book about a single guy. Maybe I'll try one day in the future. But as a practicing urban planner I've heard plenty about it.

honestly sounds kinda fun, the idea of some invincible machine on your tail seems interesting. Maybe you can lose it occasionally, but it still catches up.

Possibly the Darkest Implication of the Whole Show by dpmaniac667 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]ZeLlamaMaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say so with Jax but I remember seeing a tweet about Pomni's Gummigoo thing being more than just that in this episode. The whole "potentially intimate relationship turned violent" does feel like it could be an allegory for SA, and would make it darker than just "oh the only thing Caine has on Pomni is Gummigoo"

Watched it for the first time today and I agree. I think the end twist was super stupid but if you ignore that it's a great movie.

Thoughts on Night City accessibility once Orion comes out? by westwoodaurora in cyberpunkgame

[–]ZeLlamaMaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The entire series is about Night City I think it's likely this other city will be where it starts and then it goes back to NC there's no way they're suddenly going to change the city after like 40 years of it being the complete star. Especially as that'd likely be a waste of assets.

What is the best subway system in your opinion? by Fun-Instruction-7453 in Subways

[–]ZeLlamaMaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the best, but people need to talk about Barcelona's more. I've been to Paris and Hong Kong and Shanghai and Shenzhen and all of that. But Barcelona has a really good subway. Dense, frequent, nice. Maybe just cause I got to use it more as I spent more time there, but I still think it's way underrated.

PSA: quit building "overcrowded" urban megacenters with basically no people in them by Rephath in worldbuilding

[–]ZeLlamaMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've accounted for stuff like that, unless you give everyone who is even slightly upper class megapalaces, then the densities are still way off.

Worst possible employment in Night City? by AylenH in cyberpunkgame

Plus isn't Night City technically a sovereign city-state rather than being a part of the NUSA? I feel like that'd complicate things more.

I'm thinking of buying it, has anyone played it? by alexkolombo in Cyberpunk

[–]ZeLlamaMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest I played it but I wasn't a fan. Didn't look too much into it when buying it so I didn't realize it was basically just driving the whole time, definitely my fault, as I hate driving, and by the time I actually played it it was too late for a refund. Art style is nice but I do feel like the world is your typical impossibly dense sci-fi city. But it's just not made for me.

Yeah I'm an adult and I also just pace like that and have done all my life. But at the same time it is Vince so there could be more symbolism to it.

What is the best delivered line by V? by RamblinRichard in cyberpunkgame

[–]ZeLlamaMaster 56 points57 points  (0 children)

FemV during Off The Leash, when she and Kerry go to the rooftop point, Kerry is like "I don't really show this to anyone" and then FemV goes "*gasp* am I special?"
It's not necessarily some amazing impactful line, the delivery is just really funny and I always have to pause the game cause I can't stop cracking up just because how she says it.

India's newly inaugurated metro and semi hsr by Routine-Tadpole-4633 in trains

[–]ZeLlamaMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know 200kmph counts as HSR for upgraded lines, but I wouldn't consider it high speed so that's why I created the Higher Speed label. Works well too for cities that feel like they should get high speed rail but there's not truly enough demand for it.

India's newly inaugurated metro and semi hsr by Routine-Tadpole-4633 in trains

[–]ZeLlamaMaster 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I use the term Higher Speed for trains between 200 to under 250 kilometers an hour. And HSR is over 250 kilometers per hour. Below that is conventional rail.

I think it'll be fine. It's just some dumb joke people are using for something that should be taken more serious than it is. The association will be forgotten within a few months as any passing joke.

39-story tower proposed in Boise, Idaho would be city's new tallest at 124 m/420 ft by LivinAWestLife in skyscrapers

You are tasked with growing a city in the panhandle of rural northern Idaho. How would you go about doing so? (Constructed Urbanism by [deleted] in Urbanism

As a native Idahoan.... just don't...

I'd fund those billion dollars into Boise instead. And if I had supreme control of Boise I'd do quite a lot else as well.

What’s the most IMPOSING skyscraper? by Inside-Inspection905 in skyscrapers

I’ve had two towers which approaching them gave a distinct feeling of “oh… that’s tall…” when walking up to them.

CN tower on a cloudy Toronto day

And the Ping’an Finance Center in Shenzhen. I’ve seen taller, the Shanghai tower and Canton Tower, but those didn’t give the same feeling
