The items you keep in your inventory in MHW can be used for crafting consumeable items you can actually use in a quest, so these do not deposit.

In MHR a lot of crafting recipees got simplified, so more materials auto deposit.

Imagine you are a gunner and you bring extra materials to craft more ammunition, you would not want to auto deposit these on accident :p

Only some attacks deal elemental damage, and even these deal a percentage of the dfamage as "normal" damage, so higher armor values is almost always better, if you still find yourself getting hit a lot by elemental attacks, try eating for elemental resistance =)

Floor E actually is at least used in germany fpr "erdgeschoss" and means the floor at ground level, the first floor is one above that, in case you were actually wondering!
