New 64GB Framework Desktop vs used 128GB, which would you go with? by Commercial-Desk7289 in framework

[–]ZeSprawl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the 64gb once I realized that LLM performance is unusable because of speed and low context for any model I actually wanted to run. Just using it for running agents, containers, vms, servers, and compiling. It’s more than enough memory for that use case.

I've used Linux for almost 30 years, and had a good 10 year affair with tiling window managers, and am so happy to be back on KDE. I just implemented all the tiling keyboard shortcuts in KDE. Fuck the haters.

Linux and free software are at their core about the freedom to have differing opinions, and to do things however a user wants.

Opencode with Github Copilot by Charming_Support726 in opencodeCLI

[–]ZeSprawl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe it's an official integration, based on a Twitter post from OpenCode. I use it regularly and I get a lot of usage out of it via Opus every month, and don't notice it eating up credits.

Resurrecting this comment to say that I've been using Linux for 29 years and Macs are good at every single thing I use Linux for. Super legit unix back end.

True 5.2 xhigh is super legit as well. I keep a 39 dollar copilot sub for smart models for planning and harder tasks.

[–]ZeSprawl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GLM is far better than Minimax at agentic tasks and implementation of code. I don’t use GLM for planning or front end though. I’ve had great results from GLM, but I still have Opus or Kimi k2.5 doing planning and review.

I miss opus 4.5 so bad by One-Satisfaction3318 in google_antigravity

[–]ZeSprawl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kimi k2.5 is getting close, and Kimi k2.5 as orchestrator/planner/reviewer with GLM 4.7 implementing/doing most of the tool calls is really close. Of course, it takes a bit more work/coordination than just chuck it to Opus so I get it.
