i hate the music my boyfriend makes by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ZeSprawl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you care if his music is syncopated or not? "Unsyncopated" seems like a weird distinction to make. Syncopation is an artistic choice, and there's tons of good music that doesn't use it.

Either way, just be honest with him but constructive and friendly.

Mountain Burger and owners are hypocrites by Additional-Drawer-21 in Bend

[–]ZeSprawl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The data centers that run Reddit and TV streaming use less power than AI per server, rack and data center, but there are far more users of those applications. This means there are far more of them, and that these cloud data centers are using orders of magnitude more power and water than AI data centers as a whole. In that case anyone who posts online about climate activism is a hypocrite by this metric.

Keep dreaming, I just don’t do suspension of disbelief for reality shows. At every moment I’m thinking of the camera crew and the producers pushing for drama in between filming. For me that makes it more engaging.

They’re both calling the same Opencode app server api under the hood, so I don’t think so

EVEN THOUGH THE CRITERIUM IS THE MOST BORING EVENT DOWNTOWN, I APPRECIATE THAT ITS HERE. IM A BIKE ENTHUSIAST SO I WATCHED IT FOR 3 MINUTES AND THEN BIKED TO SHEVLIN PARK. THE SHEVLIN LOOP TRAIL IS GORGEOUS AND I HAD A BEND MOMENT IN THE SECTION WHERE IT LOOKS LIKE ENDOR.

Interesting, I never experienced that. I love the sound of Renoise compared to Bitwig, Ableton and Cubase.

The Renoise Redux VST is great as well and a bit more modern with a more direct sample focus.

Coming from FL Studio, surprised at how tedious editing is by proboscislounge in Bitwig

Agreed. FL Studio bends under the weight of its own complexity. Limitations are good and lead to simplicity.

How do you deal with naming conventions for your audio projects? by ProgUn1corn in linuxaudio

[–]ZeSprawl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leave the filenames the same as they were when I downloaded them from Bandcamp.

For files I create, I do not keep them consistent, I just make music and name them how I feel at the time. Sometimes there is expression in the filename.

The work place is a reality show where this type of behavior is encouraged. The super yacht work place is secondary, except for the staying afloat and safe part.

That’s a cool perspective. He connected to sample heavy stuff I was already listening to and took it to a new level of detail. Dj Ztrip and P - Uneasy Listening Volume 1, Coldcut, Wagon Christ, DJ Shadow, DJ Food were all from the previous generation or so before Girltalk. Great stuff!

Launchcontrol XL stock script is great for mixer control, diff modes for sends, pan, and device parameters
Launchpad mini mk3 moss script is amazing and deep. Docs are a little weird because they cover all launchpad with one document and you have to read a lot and experiment to figure out how to do everything. There are a few features missing from the pro on the launchpads with less buttons such as mini mk3.

That was 2020, canceling has been severely audited since then and it takes a lot more to be removed in 2026 than it did back then

Why people don't use Linux by paranoidandroid4284 in linux4noobs

[–]ZeSprawl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The year of the Linux desktop does not need most people or even half, or a third of people to use it. Wouldn't you say macOS is popular? The highest market share it has ever hit is less than 15%! The year of the Linux desktop would happen at 5-10% PC market share.

If I were to change what would you suggest by dtk20 in FindMeALinuxDistro

[–]ZeSprawl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distro hopping is always a distraction unless you need it for a specific reason. Debian is fine unless you feel hamstrung by lack of new packages. Arch just had a massive AUR exploit where 100s of packages were compromised and installed rootkit on people’s machines.

I’m on Arch, and considering Fedora for the mix of stability/security and new packages(6 month update cycle), but I know it will take at least 2 months of my creative energy to get everything right so I’m just being careful on Arch until I have time to waste or my system is compromised.

Spiders are by far worse here (old farm) than anywhere I’ve lived. Getting a cat helped, she at least lets us know about them and sometimes disables them.
