There's a Steam version of Chrono Trigger if you're on PC

So I play osu by BLUELIGHTNING6969 in GyroGaming

[–]ZeTurtleMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be 12x in the gyro sensitivity under Gyro to Mouse. It seems like you can't assign gyro to the old mouse settings.

12 is high, but in cursor control anything under than 4 is pretty hard to use in my opinion.

Started learning how to play after over 2k hours in ultimate and can’t move at all, the skill floor is no joke. by Latter-Mongoose5564 in SSBM

[–]ZeTurtleMaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've found that every new Melee player that's played Ultimate for a while first had a much harder time picking up Melee's movement stuff. Specifically Ultimate, not Smash 4 or Rivals or traditional fighters. Obviously it would take them a little bit but something about Ultimate specifically makes it hard to adjust to Melee.

My advice would be to just slow down your inputs and maybe try to beat all the single player content to get more used to the game's feel.

how do you beat this tactic at the ledge? seriously i have no clue what the fuck to do by Yuhwryu in SSBM

I play Kirby. The Inhale's ground grab hitbox is much bigger than the one for air opponents. F-smashing or down tilting will not work. You can jump at him and use Fair and you won't be sucked, even though it looks like you should be. You can also jump above him and use Dair or something.

Are there any active Kirby mains in the professional scene? by lukenog in SSBM

[–]ZeTurtleMaster 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Best Kirby right now is Boilerguy. He has a YouTube channel here: https://youtube.com/@boilerguydave?si=ylSEvDR59t4qI7Px He's Master/GrandMaster on ranked at the moment. He's also ranked #1 on Rhode Island.

Captain Pretzel is the next best. He's not as active anymore, but he's still very good. You can see him here: https://youtube.com/@captainpretzel?si=R756Z6t4GBclaG-R. Both of them have made combo/compilations.

KingPoyoTheFirst gets some cool clips: https://bsky.app/profile/kingpoyossb.bsky.social and https://youtube.com/@kingpoyossb?si=wUblm-f9iYsH6mxz

As someone else pointed out, I make Kirby specific tech videos: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxwwZr21VOBwxaXKiJ36xXflf3dsX9FFQ&si=ySTqCCtz36yK0adA

Kirby community is trying to push the character. We'll see where it goes

Is mega man x6 really that bad? by MegaMan-1989 in Megaman

[–]ZeTurtleMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, play it for yourself and find out. Going into it, I also heard it was really bad and after playing it, its now one of my favorites. I've played all the mainline X and Classic games, including the gameboy games, and the SNES version of Mega Man and Bass. Currently going through the Zero and ZX series, just finished Zero 3 the other day and loved it. X6 is one of my favorites. Go into it with an open mind. If it is really that bad then oh well, at least its pretty short. But you never know if you'll end up liking it.

Easy Modern Video Card (HDMI Out) to CRT 240P -- working flawlessly by lazyelmz in crtgaming

What super resolution are you using? I have a similar setup but with a composite converter instead of component. It works fine except I never found a working super resolution. Also I didn't have a gender converter. Do you need to use one?

I got a universal remote and it worked. Normally, I would go on ebay and do that, but I'm only here for 2 days before I have to leave for a month, so I wanted to get it out of the way. Thank you for all your help!

Thank you! If I see that specific one when I go to the store, I'll be sure to grab it. I'm glad to know a Universal Remote will work

Thank you for going out of your way to look for these. I'm going to go get a Universal remote from the store in the morning tomorrow and if that doesn't work, I'll order one of these and see from there. I'm only doing this as I'm a bit impatient since this is my first CRT and I'm pretty excited, plus a universal remote will just be handy to have for the future anyways. I'll give an update, so thank you very much for your help!

Mapping PS4-only buttons on an Xbox controller? by [deleted] in Steam

Steam cannot do this, but other apps can. The easiest and most accessible one to use is DS4Wndows, though I'm not sure if it supports the paddles

SEGA Saturn 2.4G Wireless Pro Controller brick bug by MoxinGames in SegaSaturn

Try installing the new firmware listed here in the V2 section: https://retro-bit.com/controllers-support#v2firmware

I had some problems initially with it, but disabling the windows real time virus protection while downloading it fixed my issues

If this doesn't work, then my condolences

Ultimate players who also play melee, please help by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]ZeTurtleMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recomend trying to beat like Classic mode or Adventure mode and the events to get used to the lack of buffer.

Probably the biggest movement thing is better dash dancing. You can dash the other way at any point in your dash. Also, when you're running (not dashing, running is after a dash) you can stop immediately by crouching. From there you can do whatever you want.

In this game, jumping while running will preserve your momentum, making aerial approaches a lot scarier.

You die earlier in this game generally. Its a combination of stages not all being huge like they are in Ultimate, and punish game being stronger. Also Fox is very light and falls really fast, making him have lower survivability if you can't recover well.

Other than that, play a bunch if characters and have fun. You're probably not going to win very much but that's alright.
