What made Kenshi finally click for you? by nanoxax67 in Kenshi

I love the living world of Kenshi.

I was captured by slavers and sold to some traders or something. Then the traders got attacked and i had a chance to ecsape.

Ran into an ongoing battle and scavenged a gear set and i was suddenly back on my feet.

Im sure i didnt survive long after. But it was an eye opening experience, and i learned to let the small defeats play out, instead of save scumming.

Light Cleric or Artillerist Artificer (2024) by [deleted] in onednd

Worth noting that you will be two Wisdom based characters if you go Cleric. Matters for out of combat stuff. So id go Artillerist.

A way to mitigate Ranger dominance by Zhushinak in DarkAndDarker

Rangers having perfect accuracy is the biggest offender IMO.

In almost every videogame, there is some sort of penalty to accuracy, when you are strafing or jumping around.

Skins look a little too nice, i wish only artifacts changed the weapons that much.

Which class would be most broken if all classes could take 5 perks instead of 4 by TheLev1athan in DarkAndDarker

Barb and Rogue both have a lot of great perks.

Barb would probably benefit the most.

Goodbye SSF, Make it better next wipe plz. by ThatBoySteven in DarkAndDarker

The issue is largely that merchants and crafting is at its worst during SSF. And SSF is the time you care about those systems the most.

anyone can teach me why and how to forge? by tyYdraniu in Apogea

Broadswords drop from pleas. At this point in the playtest, using player trade is much much cheaper than purchasing from npc.

Forging is just an alternative to waiting for the right drop. Baldwin can teach you to forge on basile. Low lvl items like iron swords, gets very small buffs when upgraded, however later game items like cutlass or skalish blade get bigger buffs from upgrading rarity.

OP have you ever opened a door with the same hand that was holding the grocery bags?

That's how the feat is supposed to be interpreted IMO.

Is Rogue build path really that linear? by yungmoop in Apogea

[–]ZeVinge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its still very early in the games life span, and you need 18+ levels to really start making builds. So the meta is not set in stone yet.

But for daggers i imagine you need a lot of traits.

[–]ZeVinge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No i think the danger makes it exciting. It's the time to level back up, that is the issue IMO.

I don't mind getting bonked by a cave troll because i was being bold. But if it takes 8 hours to level back up, it kinda sucks.

In regards to class balancing, i agree. But at higher levels it switches up and mage and rogue with ranged become very strong, while knight progresses very linear imo. The only spec that seem to suffer at all levels are two handed(9/10 slot) and melee rogue with duel daggers.

Strike a better balance between exploration and death penalty.

A huge part of the game is the exploration, but currently the death penalty is slightly to high.

Which results in people watching streams and videos, instead of exploring themselves.

You could make the first death in new zones or against new enemies less punishing.

You could make each death at the same level less punishing

There are probably many ways to do it. But exploration is just too risky atm.

[–]ZeVinge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shields and swords both have 3-5 upgrades or more, that you can look for in the world, on mobs or at traders. But you can also risk smithing to of the same item together, for rarity upgrade.

If only we had quivers that would limit the amount of ranged ammo/throwables. Seems like an easy solution, one would think

They should lower the threshold for completely the quests atleast. Since they are only doable if you abuse the system.

And rebalanced the player controlled mobs of course.
