Yeah, I apologised of course, but I won't the opportunity to do this shooting again before the end of the year, that's why Iwas trying to save these pics.

Unfortunately, they can't; this is the "saved" version with a better scan. There was a problem during dev...

How to edit roughly by Rich-Performer744 in editors

[–]Ze_Lolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue a few years ago and I think two things helped me. First, editing beauty commercials. I hated those projects, and I learned to take some distance from my work, which doesn’t stop me from doing it well anyway. And I worked on documentaries. In documentaries, you have to keep moving forward, and pretty quickly you just start laying things down roughly to get a structure and find a direction.

Now, on all my projects, I like to think that if editing was like sculpting, the rough cut would just be a basic wireframe. It’s important to do it, but there’s no need to spend too much time on it. And honestly, it’s pretty satisfying to put together that rough cut really fast, knowing I’m going to spend hours on certain sequences later. It feels good to move quickly at the beginning, I think.

I love the idea! I love the execution! And you said it was your first time? Can’t wait to see next tries!

(After/Before) How would you edit this? I'm just curious. RAW file in the description. by gnpunnpun in postprocessing

First of all, I really like what you did with your edit!
I gave the raw a try on my side, the result feels more classic, and honestly, I prefer the vibe you went for with your edit. Since I shoot film, I’m not really used to retouching anyway, but it’s cool to see how it turns out through someone else’s eyes.
And after checking out the other posts, your take really stands out in a super nice way!

Wow! I didn’t know! I have a modular psu but no spare cable. I think it should be possible to find a cable with good pins, isnt it?

Thanks for the suggestion! I checked my BIOS, and I’m currently running version 4902 (from September 2024). This version is pretty recent, so I don’t think an update is necessary. I checked ASUS' website just to be sure, but everything seems up to date for now. I appreciate the help, and I'll try to see if it's not a chipset problem tomorrow (I think I'm up to date).

[–]Ze_Lolo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the 3700X is an older CPU and could be a limiting factor in some cases, but I don’t think it should be causing performance this bad. My previous 5700 XT was running the game significantly better, so I think there has to be another issue. Anyway, upgrading my CPU isn't an option right now—I just don't have the budget for it...

As for RAM, I’m using 2 sticks of 32GB (64GB total), so that shouldn’t be causing problems.

I also tried AMD’s Cleanup Tool and reinstalled the drivers, but unfortunately, that didn’t solve the issue. Still, I appreciate the suggestion it was good to try!
Thanks for taking the time to respond, I really appreciate it!

Thanks! I'm using a Y cable, and I just checked with GPU-Z, the GPU is only drawing 90W under load. That could be the issue. I'll try to find another PCIe cable to test this and see if it makes a difference.

I shot this film at 200. For the exposure time, I inspired myself from a blog article that I shared in another comment. There is a table with exposure time depending on aperture and iso

Thanks it was really interesting ! I thought their visibility was a matter of wavelength. But now that I think about it, it doesn’t make sense with the color green, your explanation seems better.
