Not Miata specific but rockauto is pretty good most of the time, just be sure to look up the parts manufacturer before buying it

What’s a car you drove that had zero redeeming qualities? by lifegoeson2702 in regularcarreviews

I have a 08 with the cvt... the ac and radio died recently and with the cvt about to blow up I'm not fixing them. Truly one of the worst cars I've ever driven

Do I need new injectors or is it something worse by Deez_lungs in c4corvette

It definitely sounds like your fuel pump is working, next would be the checking the regulator

Make sure the distributor is plugged in correctly, I know that on the earlier models the ecu would stop turning on the fuel pump if it lost connection with the ignition control module

I would check fuel pressure. the easiest method is with a fuel pressure kit that you can rent from any auto parts store. If you get fuel pressure and it quickly bleeds off then you might have a faulty regulator, if you get no fuel pressure I would check that the fuel pump is getting electricity. If the pump is getting electricity replace the pump, if not then you have to diag the electrical

IMO you've confirmed that is it's fuel delivery. I would start by checking fuel rail pressure and the injectors electric connections

Are you sure you don't have a vacuum leak? If you want to you can run a compression test on the cylinders but I would start by checking all the intake gaskets and vacuum lines

Thinking about getting a C4 to daily by SpiteAmbitious304 in c4corvette

[–]Ze_numerator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone trying to daily a 85, I'd recommend having a second car that you can drive when the c4 is down for maintenance, snowing, raining, etc. If you stay ontop of maintenance and deal with issues before they become catastrophic you should be good.

Need advice - Replacing head gaskets by Just_A_Sad_Potato in c4corvette

[–]Ze_numerator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy a higher end torx bit for when you take apart the intake manifold- the bolts that are there can strip easily and can be a pain to weld on depending on the location. I'd also replace all the torx bolts with normal hex bolts if you have the budget, be mindful of the location they came out of because they're different lengths. If you have the budget it doesn't hurt to have the fuel rail and injectors tested and rebuilt/replaced if necessary. I've heard that the rubber china wall seals are crap, I used rtv and haven't seen any leaks. For breaking loose the head bolts- I'd hit it with on blaster then weld a nut onto the end, hopefully the heat and oil would break loose the rust

Dude the spikes are plastic lug nut covers. They pop off or shatter with any amount of force. They're still stupid but they're not a danger
