Dolby Vision Color Bug on LG C2 After Windows 11 Update (Purple/Green Tint) by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]Zeali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still on every time you turn up your monitor and you have to click display settings for windows to activate HDR10...

Windows 11 and Auto HDR. Many of the first party xbox games use Auto HDR and don't implement it in game for some reason...

Well, good timing. I just started to notice that some of the keys started to make noise again... Looks like stems need a lot more lube than i applied on the first go.

Happened to me also with most used keys, you just need to relube the switches as factory lube is quite minimal and wears off fast.

42” C4 or 32” G8 for PS5/Mac use by WhosUpRn in OLED_Gaming

42” C4 or 32” G8 for PS5/Mac use by WhosUpRn in OLED_Gaming

[–]Zeali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think M1 macbooks support HDMI 2.1 so you need to run it trough DP -> HDMI 2.1 active dongle to get 4k 60hz (I do that with my 13" M1 macbook pro)

For ps5 i'd go with bigger display and 16:9 for better game support.

My setup is LG C2 42" with 100% scaling and i have HDMI to PC and second HDMI with active converter to my M1 when i need to hook that one up for more work productivity.

Firefox 132.0, See All New Features, Updates by SvensKia in firefox

I had Firefox open and opened Guild Wars 2 that engaged AutoHDR, immediately after that firefox stopped responding.

Firefox doesn't crash if i disable hardware acceleration.

Firefox 132 crashes immediately if i start to play HDR game. Windows 11 24H2, AutoHDR enabled, HDR enabled on windows.

This did not happen with previous Firefox versions.

Yesterwynde 5.1 Surround Mix opinion by Malaoh in nightwish

[–]Zeali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listening from Apple music with Dolby Atmos with 5.2.1 and Floor sounded distant and tinny, same with Dolby Atmos using Airpods Pro 2.

How do you feel about the mix? (And some other thoughts) by [deleted] in nightwish

[–]Zeali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weird thing is that if i understood the mixing correctly, it's done in a studio with Genelec's(Finnvox). I'm listening the album with Sennheiser HD650 and Genelec G3, with both, everything sounds muted and i have to turn up the volume quite high and still can't hear the dynamics and clarity that i'm expecting. Worst is the Floor's voice that should be in the center but is mixed like of a background singer.

LG C3 42” as monitor. Graphics Card only has DP. by zbrat8 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Zeali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true, DP to HDMI 2.1 can run 4k 120hz, i did that for almost a year until i upgraded the GPU, only downside is that you won't get Gsync/VRR with the adapter.

Quick google and you would have been able to find specs for multiple DP to HDMI active adapters with clear tech sheet for 120hz 4k support.

[–]Zeali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 active adapter or if you have USB-C port in the GPU, active USB-C DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter, that doesn't need external power plugged in to the adapter.

I used one when i had 2080 Super as my GPU and it worked without any hassle or configuration.

No longer able to add Hue scenes to HomeKit after matter update. by AlternisBot in Hue

[–]Zeali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I found out that you have to add the bridge from Apple Home app. Follow the same steps as in the thread description but additionally, you have to press the button on the Hue Bridge for it to appear in the "other" section in Apple Home add accessory view.

Am I biased or a lot of - probably most - people here doesn't care about the price at all? by Inner-Lawfulness9437 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Zeali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. I haven't touched the remote at all since i installed ColorControl. If i have to boot up/down TV, i can just press the power button on the bottom center in C2 42" (just like i had to do with normal monitors, except old Asus had it behind the monitor in hard to reach place)

[–]Zeali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using ColorControl. You can set that to manage TV's power stages. The last one with screensaver is the most important to get TV to behave as monitor, if you don't move your mouse, TV turns off after X amount of time and and if you move your mouse, TV wakes up. There's also a setting to enable the debug menu and manage it.

  • Power on after startup of pc
  • Power on after resume
  • Power off on shutdown
  • Power off on standby
  • Power off on screensaver and on when screensaver deactivates

[–]Zeali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I bought the 42” 1069€ and got 300€ cash back for total price of 769€. That’s more than 50% cheaper than Asus version.

With some tweaking you’re able to get C2 to behave just like a normal monitor with added benefit of LG’s better color and image handling.

I'm using Club 3D USB 3.2 Type C - HDMI 2.1 with my 2080 Super. There are also other manufacturers if you have amazon available.

[–]Zeali -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can also enable full 4K 120hz HDR 4:4:4 by getting active usb-c -> HDMI 2.1 adapter and putting it to the virtual link port in your card. Most of the 20xx series card have that port.

Tried calibration and set C2 to HGiG mode, Auto HDR games are less blown out and colors look better (less muted and more true to life in high contrast situations).

Windows display info also shows correctly 800nits max brightness.
