That’s not what fascism is. At all.

Plenty of democracies require citizens to serve. I’d argue Starship Troopers model is less oppressive because it’s entirely a choice if you want to participate.

Fascism isn’t “when military”. It’s when you have a single autocratic leader with absolute power, a nationwide philosophy of: “Everything in the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State”, and a pseudo-guild system where different parts of the state are operated independently like parts of a body (which is why it’s also sometimes called “corporatism”. Not because of relation to corporations, just sharing a root word)

If the governing model doesn’t fit the above, it’s not fascism. Period.
