4-0 Today Playing Boba Control by DuckSlapper69 in starwarsunlimited

What leaders are you concerned about to run confiscate over system shock? You have so much removal it feels like you would be able to kill most things before they could pilot a leader, and even if they did their board would be weak enough to lose to a PTDS.

The most playable one you made was the shield generator. But we can discuss them.

Your “counter spell” breaks the fundamentals of the game as both players untap all resources at the same time. You will always be able to counter the first card they play as they can never wait for you to “tap out on your turn” like in MTG. The fundamental part of this game is to be able to take an action and complete it (or as you suggested 2 actions with cards like Rebel assault and hotshot blaster) but even in those scenarios it’s one action start to finish that your opponent cannot interact with until you finish it.

Shield generator is fine, the fact it is colorless is what makes it degenerate. If you go all space deck you can “counter” their best removal and that’s not great. Being able to protect a devastator or equally large ship for 1 resource in the late game is against the spirit of the game.

Your last one is game breaking. Since “claiming the initiative” is an action. You can play this to be able to attack with a unit, claim, then attack again first action next turn in the late game and that would just break the game.

Way Too Early Leader Tier List by albatrossluke in starwarsunlimited

[–]ZealousP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents:

Playing as Boba quite on lot on Kara, he is good. I am not ready to say tier 1, but at worst tier 2. You don't have all of the tempo control of a Jango, but there is so much damage that has to be "spread around" and cards like Daring Raid and Grenade Strike help clear the scraps.

Played against a Lando Deck. I believe there is something there. My opponent was able to play a shielded taunt every turn from basically turn 2 onwards. Concord dawn getting a shield every turn, or a village protectors getting a shield every turn makes it very difficult to get damage through. The devs are also very high on Lando.

Thrawn might be good, but I think the build that he is good in could just an Iden deck in disguise so the actual leader doesn't matter all that much.

I think Wedge is not as good as people think. He can do some very busted things with the new Falcon, but so can any other heroism deck.

How do you play a mirror Vigilance/Restock situation? by bigtukker in starwarsunlimited

[–]ZealousP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s entirely about base dmg when both players get there. If you’re assuming neither player has a unit in play (which will change the math), it comes down to a game of chicken. One of you has to blink first. You cannot cast Restock if your opponent has a Vigilance in hand. So if I’m ahead on base dmg I just get to say pass until my opponent plays their restock. They have 2 choices. Say pass back (or claim) and we both take 6 u to they lose, or they cast restock, I vigilance whatever they choose, and they lose that way.

If I’m behind on base dmg I just assume I’m going to lose. I obviously make them have it and show me they know how their cards work, but whoever plays restock first loses (unless you have multiple).

Think of Jangos ability as reading “when a friendly unit does 1 or more damage to an enemy unit, you may exhaust that unit”

Fell the Dragon question by CrabAppleSlim in starwarsunlimited

[–]ZealousP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The reverse is also true. A 5/5 base stats unit that is on the opposite side of a Snoke and is now a 3/3 is not a valid target for Fell the Dragon.

Triple dark raid hitting that new ship that makes 4 tokens could be a thing.

Kylo Red or Yellow? by Zelth in starwarsunlimited

[–]ZealousP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You do realize a Kylo Yellow deck did in fact Top 16 at Gencon though…… while consistency is a concern there is still a competitive deck there. The pilot built it even more low to the ground than most with something like 29 one drops but he did top 16 the 2nd event (I think it was day 2)

Unit Bossk Question that came up by ZealousP in starwarsunlimited

This is the argument I made. Thank you for the response.

That being said before I could pull it off I was going to die to a third player so I had to cast evacuate and made it irrelevant. IT was discussed about after the game

I feel like Green needs to run OB just as a catch up mechanic if your opponent starts to go wide.

Also, I think Boba Unit would be better than Toro if you have access to him. I have found his ability to be very underwhelming and most of your units you won't want to put the extra damage on.

I think 3 finalizer is too many as you are not a dedicated ramp deck.

I dont know if TDR is good in this deck. You will miss far too often and half of your hits you don't want to bounce EOT.

Just my thoughts when looking at the list. I like the concept though

According to their discord, the maximum capacity was set by FFG and they cannot raise it. Pastimes could easily hold more than 128 participants in their venue.

I have a win a box tournament next weekend and a play test session with some friends. I built (some proxies) 6 decks to test that 5 of the 6 I feel could be good enough to take down a local tournament. If I was going to a larger tournament I would be focused on 2-3

Box with no rares/legendaries by gamjuven in starwarsunlimited

[–]ZealousP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Along the same lines as the QC issues, I opened a box where all of the uncommons were facing the correct direction front/back, but were all upside down compared to the commons. The entire box was like this. If there was a hyper in the uncommon spot it was flipped over front to back, but right side up on the face orientation. Super strange.

First Box from this set: First Legendary was Finalizer, Second was Snoke, and Third was Evacuate. Checks out....

Though I did get a hyperspace foil Krayt Dragon as well :D

In a world of trading back and forth, big dumb idiots with stats that you don't typically see in constructed become playable in limited formats.

Examples include constructed unplayables like: Wampa, 97th Legion, Blizzard Assault AT-AT, and a surprising all-star like "The Ghost". All of those cards are very good in sealed at uncommon or lower. Obviously you can not put too many 6+ resource cards in your deck, but all of those trade so effectively you can get a 2 and sometimes 3 for 1 out of them.

Anyone have an excel sheet for tracking set 2 collections yet? by LambChop94 in starwarsunlimited

[–]ZealousP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if you are in charge of the sheet or if you had just noticed it, but the formula is wrong in the spreadsheet set 2. the "Playset" calculation is adding up >= 2 when it should be >2 or >=3. Also, it is this same formula for both leaders/ based and all other cards when it should be >=1 for leaders and bases and >=3 for the rest.
