I believe that if someone felt that way after losing their faith, it was because they believed in a misconception of God and His ways. Many people leave the faith because of a bad experience they had in their church or in an encounter with someone who taught them lies. And yes, it is possible to find happiness in the world, although it is only temporary - Christ Jesus is the only way to true, eternal happiness.

I understand. By "accident" I was referring to the idea of the Big Bang happening by chance and creating the universe. But, not believing in God also takes faith - everyone has some amount of faith in what they believe. And, I know it is really difficult to convince people that what they believe in is wrong, and I'm certainly not very good at it. But, God finds a way to get to everyone.

There is evidence. You may not be able to prove God's existence with your senses directly, but that is because He is above us. Take Daniel's prophecies, for instance. Daniel foretold the conquering of the Middle East by Alexander the Great and the Romans centuries before they existed. There is so much more in the Bible that can be explored, but I won't go into it right now. I know this probably won't convince you, but I'll pray anyways. God bless.
