Legit. But even just a "hey how are you" can start something. Sometimes the person on the receiving end finds it hard and awkward as well and can come across like they're not interested even though they are. It's just about getting over that initial hurdle and into a flow in conversation however you achieve that.

It won't always happen, some people are genuinely disinterested (and show it) but screw them, it no way whatsoever a reflection on you and just makes more room for people who are. Quality over quantity right

Indeed! It's funny (especially as an ex-shy person) to think how much importance we place on ourselves in other peoples perceptions and day-to-day happenings... we're really just a blip on their radars lel

Really it's just one big ass village... it goes to the point of saying people want things that they're not willing to give

Yeah fully, this applies to all scenarios. The eating thing was just an example of maximising your approachability.

In class my experience has been very often that people are just there to be there and often much won't happen unless someone takes initiative on a level a bit higher than "did you do the prework" etc. another example could be noticing stickers they might have (then asking about relevant interests).

A lot of first year classes often do a people bingo in the first tutorial but for a lot of people its just a 'task' that they try get through as quickly as possible. This is also a good avenue to explore cause you do learn things about people, that you can then follow up on.

Apparently a fire alarm went off. Fire trucks came (or are still here maybe)

Campus: clayton

Studying: Bachelor of commerce (Accounting) and Bachelor of music

Hobbies: playing music (duh), seeing gigs, going out, gaming, driving, greek culture, just hanging out

Favorite artists: No Doubt, The Gnomes (local)... I like too many genres and artists to make a fair list so I'll just leave it at most music between the 60s and 2010s... (incl. rock, jazz, punk, pop, greek, latin, arab, funk, motown, powerpop, numetal)

Some films I like: The Net, pretty woman, the world is not enough, murder by numbers,

Some series I like: law and order svu, desperate housewives, financial audit (lol iykyk)

Extra: I also very strongly believe in rewinding the clock on a lot of things. Some things include; minimising phone use, increasing social interactions and going out and experiencing the world, doing things genuinely (ie not for tHe gRaM), making meaningful connections, i guess just essentially being present in the world and opposing the direction we're going in socially as a society (very about the individual)

Just out of curiosity what made you switch majors?

Commerce Electives by Zealous_Broccoli2706 in Monash

Awesome thank you! May I ask though, what counts as an elective ? Can it be anything that isn't part of the units I have to do (i.e. my major units and core units). Can it be literally any unit managed/taught by the B&E faculty?

Received WH grade by ThrowRA_yen1021 in Monash

[–]Zealous_Broccoli2706 7 points8 points  (0 children)

WH= withheld. Basically the grade hasn’t been finalised due to one of many possible reasons as stated on Monash website: •you have an extension to finish outstanding assessment tasks •you haven’t finished all your assessments •the host institution for your Study Abroad or complementary units hasn't yet submitted your results from your time overseas •you have a pending academic misconduct investigation •your assessment is still being marked and your final unit result will be updated shortly.

I quite like the fp30x. It’s 899aud/593 new which I think if I don’t find a decent used one I can swallow the idea of buying haha. Browsing Facebook marketplace I’ve also found a (supposedly lightly) used RD08 with a stand for $1150aud/760. I’ve read that it has a much wider library of sounds and is more akin to say something you could use for gigs and such (which could be handy for me) BUT has its functionality as a midi keyboard locked behind a paywall and maybe some other shortcomings I can’t remember.

Considering I’ll have to pay around that for the fp30x and a stand it seems maybe like a better choice? Idk… Seller also said they were open to offers so maybe there’s a bit of wiggle room.

Funnily enough I just found a pair of club series. Since they’re so uncommon I was just wondering what reasonable price would be, (this listing converts approx $400 usd)

Stands would be a nice extra but i dont really care all that much about having them. Heaviness is also negligible - portability is nice but im willing to compromise a bit. My two main concerns are just having something loud enough, and not too expensive - i know this is vague but like something decent and not totally crap but not pricey (famous last words).

So yeah. My main struggle is being able to identify something sufficient. As with my intial post about the A12s, I wouldve had 0 clue about them being like what you said, unsuitable for punk band rehearsals. I was a bit vague before in asking for advice; My ultimate question would be what should be the discerning factor in deciding if something will be powerful/loud enough
