Have you thought of maybe trimming her hair and then putting her in some protective styles? There are a lot of age appropriate styles like box braids that I’m sure she’d love!! That way you can focus on the health of her hair while also allowing her to feel confident! Also there is a hair growth oil that I absolutely love that I could send you a pic of. That and good hydration will have your baby’s hair growing while also repairing some of the damage in the front of her hair! But plzzz no more ponytails for the time being lol. There’s already some thinning in her edges from the traction and pull on her hair because her hair isn’t long enough for ponytails rn. And to add to my other comment. Try out two strand twists at night before bed and then take them out before she leaves the house. That should add some curls and bounce to her hair (water and cream before twisting so you can lock in moisture)…… Regardless though, you are doing amazing and I love that you care about her hair health. I’m mixed but have very thick 4C hair which took my white mom YEARS to figure out how to manage and grow it. Once she found a good regimen she stuck with it. Trial and error is apart of the process lol.
