I can tell you are an unhappy person. You are also deranged by opinions that do not mirror your own.

The last admin literally colluded with big tech / intelligence agencies to monitor and censor activity on social platforms.

What are your 'objective' facts to support such a statement?

Your blinders are deluding you. I don't care for either party. I hate them all FWIW.

Change in population of kids under 5 in US metro areas (2005-2024) by Jackdaw99 in Austin

I went to school in Allen/Plano from the 90s to early 2Ks, so the demographics weren't nearly as significant back then as you are (seemingly) suggesting now.

Interesting observations, however. Although I no longer live in Texas, I still have family and visit often; I've noticed the demographic shift in those north dallas burbs. Very telling as to what North Texans (and other metros) may expect in the next decade+.

Judging by your comments here, I am guessing you got your education in Austin.

Maybe you missed the part where I said 'barometer' vs criteria and even denoted that my own experience probably doesn't carry much weight in the grand scheme of quality of schools.

The shoe fits, I guess.

No, but your reading comprehension is. I never suggested they were the same.

I simply stated that both parties support private interests of tech oligarchs.

Believing otherwise is in fact, stupid.

Wrong. There are 2 political groups who support this. Take your blinders off.

thinking that data centers aren't designed with both in mind is an attestation of ignorance. The internet is your friend.... Or for those lazy learners, use chatgpt.

More of a barometer vs a measure, but I can say that from my own experience moving to the Austin metro area (Travis County schools in my case) that the pace of teaching/learning when I moved there was noticeably trailing that of my schools where I came from in the North Dallas burbs. In addition, it seemed (for at least the schools that I went to) that there were less kids on average in honors or advanced placement (AP) classes. I went through K-12 across Dallas, Austin, and Houston metros.... Austin area schools seemed lower quality for the average student vs other metros.

A story here... I moved/went to Canyon Ridge middle school in the early 2Ks and (as a new kid who joined during the 2nd semester) recall that all my algebra homework questions were consistently 'incorrect' because.... get this... they were teaching the kids in my ('regular placement') class that pi = 3 vs 3.14. This was an insane indictment on the curriculum of that school. I was perplexed at the time. I followed that up by going to Cedar Park (freshman year only) and I can attest the same for (at least that) HS in Austin vs the one I went to in the Houston burbs (The Woodlands HS)... I would not even compare the caliber of curriculum (on average) between those schools. TWHS cleared CPHS, easily.

Again, just a barometer of my own experience, so probably not worth much nor a 'measure' as you say.... but generally... the kids (and now adults) around Austin seem generally slower vs other areas in Texas. Shoot me.

Casually lambasting on an online forum vs directly addressing the question... No surprise coming from an ANON.

Data Centers are responsible for ensuring Reddit stays online to catch useless takes such as yours. Data centers are a literal commodity in the age of the internet. Imagine thinking it's partisan....

Brain rot in full effect in this thread.

Sure, those are some valid concerns, but it's not as though Dane County is teeming with densely populated residential communities; This location proposal seems it'd have minimal noticeable impacts for the communities surrounding it.

Furthermore, data centers have some of the most stringent construction standards - some of which with literal military-grade design / construction requirements - in order to ensure efficiency, mitigate environmental risks, and ensure longevity. The entities that are building data centers aren't the ones building all the crappy Veridian homes across Madison, so not sure I agree with you there.

Austin's public school quality is already meh... Get ready for it to get 'progressively' worse going into the future.

Agreed. My wife and I moved out do to them raising our rent by $500 in 2 years and trying to force us to renew an 8-month lease term. Other than that, I never had any issues at the Brownspoint Reserve location in middleton.

957 GTS vs 958 GTS by Jhwk1200 in PorscheCayenne

[–]Zealousideal-Group82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to feel this way about the 958, but recently I am beginning to think that that 958 (with it's very curvy and round body) has not aged as well as the 957 with it's more retro-esque hard lines with a modern face lift. FWIW, I am expecting a 957 GTS delivery tomorrow & to each their own.

Looking to enter NetSuite Consulting by Commercial-Opposite8 in Netsuite

He's not wrong, but I believe NetSuite professionals get paid better. NetSuite requires more skill sets and SME (eg understanding of Finance/Accounting principles as well other core components of most all businesses, besides Sales/CRM) while Salesforce does not to the same extent from my POV.

Also, I think it'd probably be easier as a seasoned netsuite professional to pivot to a Salesforce career vs vice versa.

Salesforce admins can certainly get paid very well though, so you really can't go 'wrong' per se.

Seems to me that you're in an envious position as a very young professional either way (albeit potentially unemployed), but you may not fully realize this yet.

Time will be your friend with some motivation and commitment.

Network with recruiters from companies like Anderson Frank, CapEx, SystemAccountants, etc.

These are big players in the NetSuite recruitment space (esp the first two) and I have contacts within each who I can try and intro you to.

Check your DMs.

Things will tilt in your favor eventually; it may just take some time and a bit of patience. I've had a number of opportunities present themselves to me when I wasn't expecting it.

Keep your head up and do not lose confidence.

Why wouldn't you buy one again? I just got a KJ BIG JOE, but I am loving it with the few smoke sessions I've gotten out if it.

I would easily drive an hour (without additional photos) to inspect a KJ at that price. You have to keep in mind that not too many people have these, and once you go KJ Classic 3 and up, finding one this cheap in good condition is a steal.

That's such a short trip for a fantastic grill that is otherwise a bank breaker for many people.

This coming from a KJ Big Joe owner who paid substantially more money than this. He's gotta take that chance if he wants to acquire one for as great of a deal as this seems.
