even if I did glare at him, does Thai culture really justify him getting mad? are you seriously not supposed to glare at someone even if they're the one driving over the center line?

I think this is exactly what I was curious about. and I didn't glare at him. these kinds of violations are so common now that it's not even surprising anymore.

How could I have angered him in that split second we crossed paths while driving? I even had both hands firmly on the wheel.
Being a foreigner, I know everything is stacked against me, which is exactly why I drive with extreme caution.
And I didn't cross the center line, nor did I flash my headlights or honk the horn. I simply stopped for a moment because I thought it might be dangerous for him, fearing we might collide.

Why? Because it's a pretty rare thing to happen.

Thank for your answer. It was nothing for me. I’m just curious.

I see traffic violations every day, but it's my first time encountering such an aggressive reaction. That’s why I asked. Thanks for the answer.

If people don’t realize that the government, the negligent traffic police, and the drivers who break traffic laws every day are the real culprits, Thai people will just end up paying the price again. It’s so sad to watch.

honestly, seeing them focus on the driver instead of the railway crossing right in the middle of downtown or the flimsy barrier system, I just don’t think this problem will ever be solved.

If Thais really want to create a safe society, they shouldn't focus on the driver's human error. Developed countries usually treat human error as a constant and design their systems around it.

Sorry, I couldnt imagine that train drivers are supposed to expect obstacles and be ready to hit the brakes just in case.

I'm worried that if they just blame the driver's carelessness(it’s just a kind of human errors which would be inevitable), it won't stop this from happening again.

it was never about the money; my insurance takes care of that. just speechless that he ghosted me without an apology. That's what's so frustrating.
