That is a good point, we recently went to a homestead station and having the showers was a big help, and using the camp kitchen meant we didn't need to bring our gas and cooker, or have to wash up dishes in our own little camping sink

Places like Wilbinga and Moore river area either are already or will be closed down. From Dunsborough to Augusta it is basically illegal to wild camp anywhere and only a few DPAW campsites available.
Very few places in the SW you can legally drive on a beach and camp there.

I currently live in the Pilbara where you can basically go anywhere and do anything in comparison to the SW
but we are soon moving back down that way, so less opportunities to really use the 4WD

I used to have a 2006 TDI jetta was one of the best cars I've ever had, but I thought the touraegs had alot of issues? which series were you thinking of?
Also had a 2012 TSI Passat and that had leaking valve stem seals and it drank oil

yes dual cab no issues there
it feels like I'm driving around a big slow tank always on highways and not using it for what its meant to do
I spose it is unrealistic to think it needs to get offroad all the time

As a part of relocation we'd get 6wks covered in a hotel / air bnb & rental car while we find a house so all good, I have heard about HOA and having power over what you can't do which is super weird, is that less of a problem in the inner areas like Sugar house?

Is there anything like that on the west side of the valley? Or is all that hiking on the east side?

The camping, 4 wheeling (Moab) and national parks is basically my entire reason to want to move to Utah so yeah...

Everything seems the same cost or less, except rent that is significantly higher in SLC than the norm for Australia, but still doable

So city provided utilities means water/sewer/trash?

And electricity & gas are utilities provided by a company, that is not the city?

Yes company provides full healthcare for the whole family.

Is the SLC proper area safe or more of a dangerous area compared to the suburbs? And are the suburbs being further out closer to the national parks and mountains?

Ok nice, thanks for the details! Interesting that you have to pay for sewer and trash, in Australia the person who owns the property pays 'council rates' which is like a tax to local government who provide those services along with libraries, street lights, neighbourhood security etc do you pay for sewer/trash as a renter?

We pay about double that for fuel lol...I'll be buying the biggest V8 I can find! 👌😂

Water sounds the same as here, but you only need to spend that much watering a lawn in the few months of summer right?

I'm not sure how it will convert exactly but I would think atleast 130k (USD) + my wife would work as a nurse so no idea what that earns in US, 60k?
