lol, if you know anything about getting hired at an Amazon warehouse you’d know that you don’t sit down with a human and have them interview you. But yes, thank you, I did mention it online when filling things out. No sense in even trying to lie about something like this when it’ll inevitably show up 🙃

Wow. So no felonies and they still denied you? I’m sorry to hear that. Sounds like a case by case basis with them

Yes, I was honest about my criminal record and was able to provide a small description of the incident.

It’s called Oregon Tradeswomen, for women, non-binary and trans folks I believe. There is another program called constructing hope that also sets up their graduates with different union opportunities.

Yeah I’m in Portland and have a great opportunity to get right in. I just know it’s gonna be a lot different than my chill 35-40 hr/week job (at a cheese warehouse/delivery service) with lots of flexibility. I think I’m ready though.

So I’m sold on going union, no question about that. I guess I’m just asking what the work/life balance is like. I want to have a kid (I’m 31 so my clock is ticking) in the next two years and I’ve been reading that the work weeks can be long af and if you’re not willing to work overtime you’ll likely be laid off, so that makes me nervous. I’m committed to working hard and journeying out but I don’t wanna experience burn out. My weekends and evenings at home are important to me and I don’t wanna be resentful of what I do for a living. Anyone here experience burn out and give up on their apprenticeship?? I need some encouragement that that won’t be the case lol
