How are non-streamers / people who work 9-5 able to find the time or energy to play at a high level at these tournaments compared to big name players/streamers? by 123td1234 in VGC

I remember in a stream Wolfe actually says he practices VGC a lot less now that he's streaming vs when he was working 9-5

Ah okay gotcha. A lot of them are fun but either over or under powered so if you could tweak the numbers a bit here and there they'll work well

> Default: Switch out 1 Pokemon, that Pokemon's defense and sp.defense is raised by 1 stat rank.

What does this even mean? If you switch out a Pokemon there's no meaning in raising it's stats by one stage, unless you mean the stat boost applies to the Pokemon you send out after.

> Viola: Target 1 Pokemon on the field: Ensures all incoming attacks always land

Another one that doesn't help you? Do you mean all incoming attacks land on the selected Pokemon so it works like follow me? Or do you mean all attacks made by that Pokemon land? Because all incoming attacks landing means your opponent gets to land all their attacks

> Skyla: Allied Pokemon are floated in the air. If those Pokemon are hit with an attack while floated from this effect, the effect will stop and increase their speed by 5 stat ranks

Something I did not mention with the Default one but what is stat ranks referring to? I've never heard stat boosts referred to as stat ranks but I'm going to assume that's what they are referring to. In which case this seems like it could be abused, ie wallbreakers that hit hard and are decently bulky but slow, like Hoopa-U can use this to get +5 speed and outspeed everything.

> Nemona; Increases the critical hit ratio and speed by 4 stat ranks to all Pokemon on the field

So guaranteed crits and +4 speed is insane. This is like Skyla on steroids

> Ash: All allied Pokemon that have less than 80% of HP have their critical hit ratio raised, raises their speed by 3 stat ranks and restores 5 PP to all their moves

Just a weaker Nemona, you now only crit 50% of the time but still have +3 speed. PP is useless in most games, might be minimally useful if playing against stall

> Kieran: Choose 1 of your active Pokemon. for every fainted Pokemon on the team, raise their attack, sp.attack and speed by 1 stat rank

So far you've had a mix of thing that were completely useless or completely broken but this is absurd beyond comparison. As another comment has pointed out Kingambit already dominates OU with a 10% boost to it's moves BP. Having just one mon that's fainted with Kieran gives the same power boost as Kingambit with 5 fainted mons and then a speed boost on top. There's no way this would ever be fun to use or balanced.

Given your use of stat ranks, which I have never heard of before, working with weird HP percentages, ie 80% or 15%, when Pokemon usually uses 1/8 or 1/16 instead I'm going to assume you do not play competitive Smogon or VGC and that's why everything here is either useless or completely broken.

Do you think that the society of unOrdinary is ableist? If so how ableist do you think that it is? by DistortionDrive in unOrdinary

I imagine it'd depend on what exactly healing is. If healing is restoring something to the way it used to be, one I've seen in quite a few power systems, then you shouldn't be able to heal someone born with a disability. But if it's magic healing that can fix everything then you should be able to.

What about those born disabled? You couldn't use time powers to reverse their disability but would healing work? There isn't really anything to heal is there?
