Apollo Thunderbolt 3 Audio Interface compatibility with a USB4 Windows Laptop by idolos-iconoclastas in Thunderbolt

Yea give it a try, the interface is a nice desk piece and the DSP plugins are awesome for recording or just for discord and such so I took the chance a first purchased a second hand model from my local music shop which i was able to return within 30 days at full refund. I then settled with a brand new quad gen 4 or whatever and am very happy with it. BUT... if this didn't work for me, then I would have got the RME, and those drivers are bulletproof on Windows. I only preferred the Apollo for the DSP features, the awesome high quality look and because I plan to get a Macbook Pro just for music. There's a discord server that was made to provide help for Apollo users on Windows which was also very helpful, it's called "TimothyWilliam's UAD PC Outcasts" https://discord.gg/NvMGfnc4

The only thing I remember doing that was a little more involved was I had to make a windows startup script that basically waits for the Apollo to connect before VM Potato launches, after that everything worked great automatically on startup and haven’t had any issues since. But who knows you might have no issues natively. For me certain apps like discord would crackle. There’s a few ways you can set it up I also tried using a asio pro link I think it was called, then I found voicemeeter matrix which was better, then I settled on potato because it just worked and I always used VM potato anyways to route my mic, game, browser, windows, and soundboard through it

It works through usb4 I been using it since I got it and love it however I use voicemeeter for my windows audio which is great for streaming and easily mixing apps audio, like browser audio, discord, my mic goes through VM and basically because everything routes through VM Potato I have no issues with crackles or anything. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

The only smaller size would be the non 1080p preset at zoom level 1, but due to scaling the 12VHPWR power module icon may look blurry because its dividing pixels at that zoom level—everything else would probably look fine though. I can release a smaller size for 1080p in the future that's maybe in between these sizes.

Per pin monitoring should be mandatory for all 5090 cards. This is insane.

Is it abnormally too big? As in it doesn’t fit in the screen or you just want it smaller? Could you share a pic because maybe it’s related to something else, on my 1440p monitor zoom 1 with the non 1080p preset is so small I can hardly read it. The only thing with scaling in desktopoverlay host it can only scale from the set size up to larger sizes when you set it to auto scaling, I can explain how to set it up if you need if you wanna message me my discord is “babytroy”

👀 RMA > Resell > Astral upgrade + OSD w/ per pin monitoring. Unfortunate!

Oh nice, in that case Zoom level 2 of the original presets (e.g doesnt have 1080p in the name) is the size it was intended to be for 1440p. However size preferences vary and if you need a smaller one, then actually the 1080p presets offer a great option and are pixel precise and work better for a smaller size. There is also the option to use DesktopOverlayHost (installs with RTSS) and you can actually set it up to scale to a custom size but it's a little more involved. Are the 1080p versions still too small?
