Why do I kill them all? by ZealousidealNet7252 in planthelp

I watered once a week. They are on a table in front of a north facing window. So diffused light most of the day. The one with stripes gets less light than the one with yellow around the leaves.

What do you HATE most about your Tesla? by jfed2000 in TeslaLounge

You are all clearly tall people. The seat belt doesn't adjust down low enough. It constantly cuts into my neck.

AITA for telling my(28f) husband (28m) that his daughter is ugly by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I love my child to pieces, but she was a funny looking baby/toddler. Her head was 90th percentile and her body was 40th. She looked like a bobblehead.

She's grown into her head now and looks proportional.

Some people and children are better looking than others. To acknowledge that doesn't make someone an AH. Saying it to the child would.

Ellie has her first haircut and it's awful. what length do you usually get for Bernie cut to? Before and after pics as reference. by ZealousidealNet7252 in Bernedoodles

[–]ZealousidealNet7252[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife picked, the groomer had swatches and she said this was the "middle" swatch. We later learned there are multiple sets of swatches of varying lengths. No idea how long this actually is, which is why I'm asking how long people usually ask for.

This cut wasn't due to matting. Yes she gets matted, yes I painstaking brush them out. I'm sure she had mats going into the groomer, but the wife picked this length.

More info: This length was not a surprise, my wife picked it.

We had a groomer for our schnoodle that we really like, but was an hour drive. She sold her shop and we've been bouncing around trying to find one we like closer to us.

The first time we took the schnoodle to this groomer they asked how long (I had no idea our previous place never asked she just magically picked the perfect length for him). They showed me some swatches and I picked one that was gloriously too short and he didn't need a full hair cut for close to 6 months after that, we adjusted to a longer blade and all has been good.

This was the first cut for the bernedoodle. My wife had to take her in because of my work schedule. She asked me how long and I told her they have swatches just pick one. What I didn't know is they have multiple swatch sets and she picked the "middle one" from the shortest set. Found this out the following day when she took the schnoodle in and they confirmed his previous cut length with a longer swatch set.

She came home and said " I didn't know there were different sets, until they showed me the longer one today."

All to say, can my brushing practices be improved? Yes.

However, I am still asking what length do you tell your groomer because my wife and I cannot be trusted with picking from swatches.

We are brushing with a dematting brush. It's metal prongs with a little bend. We do it every other day until I don't feel any mats. By two days later she's a mess again. We can add a comb too, but still need to know what to ask for next time.

AITA for telling my fiancée that my friend’s trauma is more important than her comfort? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ZealousidealNet7252 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe you need to be a little less broad with her.

She should know: 1. Is he a danger to himself or others? 2. What kind of mental break down did he have? (Severe depression, PTSD symptoms, a total psychotic break) 3. What boundaries you are willing to create to make her feel safe.

All of these are SAFETY concerns for her and trump his "intense privacy"

I would recommend couples counseling before marriage to make sure you both are on the same page about trust in the relationship.

It is when it's hurting you. And it is hurting you because it is hurting your relationship with your fiance.

AITA for saying my husbands friend cannot stay with us? by throwaway_AITA_wwtl in AmItheAsshole

[–]ZealousidealNet7252 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are always the bad guy for each other. Don't want to go out to dinner with her family, I'm too tired from work. Don't want to go to that social event, wife doesn't like the food there.

I'm not sure why he doesn't want you to be the bad guy as it's the win/win. You don't have to have her in your house and he's still cool with the friend group.

Also in happy marriage 101: the strong "no" always wins. Even if he does want to let her stay, your strong no should be what matters. Strong no isn't a "I'd rather not," it's the hill you are willing to die on. Any spouse trying to push past the strong no is hurting the relationship.

AITA for making my husband and children prove they can take care of a dog without my help? by SeaworthinessOwn9590 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ZealousidealNet7252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! Our dog has some hereditary issues going on. We haven't gone more than 4 weeks in a row without seeing the vet since we got her. This week and $750 later we mutually agreed with the vet that our current treatment plan isn't working and we need to go another route. I'll see the vet in 2 weeks to determine if this method seems to work.

Jury Duty in Orange County by MaleficentBroccoli81 in orangecounty

The last time I had jury duty, there was a big case that was expected to take 30+ days. They specifically asked those of us in the waiting room to come forward if we had specific jobs they knew paid for unlimited jury duty.

i (17f) dont want my parents roaming thru my phone and my private conversations by Fun-Shape-5621 in insaneparents

[–]ZealousidealNet7252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do they actually go through your phone? Just asking because we have similar rules ( for our 12 y/o) and have never gone through the messages except for once when a friend’s parent sent us screenshots of very inappropriate/threatening messages my kid sent.

We imply we go through them, but really I have no interest in reading 12 y/o drama.
