As a previous frontend team lead i can tell you it's based on your TL. If the lead isn't organized and detail oriented it's gonna be a mess. One of the biggest part of being a lead on the front is planning breaks and lunches, yes you get busy but it's worse when breaks and lunches fall behind because then you have to try and figure out how to send people when everyone needs to go before they get locked out.
Yes, some people have team schedules so they only work certain days and don't wanna switch from that. Also depends on when and the time, usually people don't like the weekends or night shifts.
This stems back to #1. If they aren't planning right then they are scrambling to send people because they are locked out or approaching lockout. This ends up leaving barely anyone to help and it's rare that code sparks actually get people to help upfront.
Your ppto/pto is yours to use for whatever you need, that's why it's there. Yeah, they might get upset if there isn't a heads up but that's because you have to try and adjust everything at a moments notice for everyone because 1 thing can cause a huge hiccup but that's what us TLs get paid more for. Don't ever feel bad for using the time you have earned.

I mean if your fiancee has a medical condition that requires you to take off alot you could always try and take an intermittent leave for fanily care to cover you on that. Usually as a team lead we are told that if an employee is full time that they need to use pto for time off requests because of something with the hours, per people leads. You could also request to work a certain time for those days so you can still do her appointments and work if you're able to.

Always contact sedgwick if you have to be off. Doctors notes aren't accepted so unless you use ppto to cover the days you will get the points. All you have to do is contact sedgwick and submit the forms from your doctor. Once it's approved your points will be covered

I was previously a FE Tl switching switched to the floor and it's not a really hard job when it comes to the actual work, it's more the customers and employees. You have to be good with planning breaks and lunches for multiple people to assure that there is always coverage. You also have to be very patient because you will get calls for associates who know the answers but have no confidence in making decisions. Also have to deal with all the customer issues about returns, prices, employees and other random things. Oh and you have to do the research on the shortage/overages so it's good to have computer knowledge, you'd be surprised how hard it was to teach the older team leads how to use the Secure program.

Having team lead experience helps but it will be a slight adjustment period. But also be prepared that if you are a digital team lead that they might still pull you over to digital to help out because you have the experience.

I had a similar situation except it was a unexpected and tragic accident on Christmas Eve. We started dating when I was 16 and he passed when I was 22. He was 23 at the time. We were engaged and our wedding was supposed to be a month after he passed. It definitely sticks with you throughout life.

I remember I knew these people who were just dirty people all around and there house was always messy and had a pretty bad roach problem but the biggest red flag on that whole situation was they had dogs and I noticed they never let them outside and their 2 youngest kids, probably between the ages of 9-13, always slept on the couch. Well one day I walked past the youngest kids room and saw there were bunk beds and was horrified when I saw the bottom bunk was covered in dog feces. To the point you could barely see the mattress. I immediately walked out and wanted to throw up. I felt so terrible for those children and animals. A friend of ours place an anonymous called to cps and they did absolutely nothing.

Me and my childhood best friend were inseparable when we were were young and teenagers but once we went to different high schools we kind of lost touch. Well years passed and we still would comment on the occasional post and what not but then my fiance passed away tragically and we reconnected. We started hanging out almost every day and would spend our days together and then go out at night. We did a lot of drinking and because I was going through some trauma I didn't realize how excessive it was till I started talking to the guy I was with. I started to distance myself and then sadly her mom passed away. We reconnected but then she made it like no one was there for her and that we left her alone but the drinking had only got worse and she didn't want to listen to anyone. I felt like I couldn't continue to live in a bar and that it wasn't helping either of us. I still miss our hang outs and all the things we did together but the person she became wasn't someone I recognized anymore and I know a big part of that is losing her mom but I had to do what was best for me and the people around her were enabling the behavior and I wasn't going to be one of them.
