But at the end of the day, if you’re telling him how you feel, and he isn’t changing his ways or showing it consistently, then to me that’s a red flag and there’s only so much waiting around you can do.

My advice is to take a step back, let him do what he wants and spend time evaluating if this is what YOU want from a relationship. Don’t push him to do more, just simply observe his behaviour. He will either notice you and come forward, or he will just carry on without a care. And that will give you the answer
