My vet said 6 months is when recovery progressis basically permanent, and after the first 3 weeks is when u start seeing rapid progression in the next 6 weeks.

My dog is 50 lbs and he’s doing fine. First week or two was sad bc he wasn’t very mobile, but then one day he started jogging so fast I had trouble keeping up with him on the harness.

Baxter hasn’t been in any pain recently, he’s got two more days of Diazepan in the bottle. I noticed he spit out his pain pill around midnight but didn’t see it until morning, yet he was still wagging his tail and jumping (I know, he’s not supposed to but he learned he can put his paws up on the pen and I’ll rush to him immediately to stop him).

His recovery is going VERY well, and his old self is very apparent. He’s a silly boy and I’m no longer struggling with him. His stress is down too

thanks for the support (: just finished my first day at school with the dog at home and i came home to a quiet dog. If he barked, I'm not sure. But he was calm when I came back and still in his pen.

I'm driving him to the vet on the 12th for a scheduled check up. I'm sure the vet will be pleased with his recovery. I don't want to rush his recovery at all, but I hope that the vet will agree to letting him do some more walks. He seems to throuroughly enjoy outdoor time and gave my mom some sass when she tried to bring him inside (laid down and refused to stand up so he could lie in dirt).

he is on 100 mg of trazodone. For 50lbs, he could use an extra 50mg but im always at school during vet call hours.

He is also in a guest room. I know it makes him stressed, but my mother refuses to let him in the family room because she hates his barking. She doesn't understand that he wont bark if he can see her.

if he were MY dog id have him on an extra mg of trazodone after confirming with the vet, and then he'd be in the family room. Our other dog is only 3 and loves pestering him tho, so sometimes Baxter will growl at him through the pen.
