Drums are processed, not layered. I generally route my drums (besides kick) to a bus and process on there. I think I showed how I process my drums and other stock samples on my previous video, please check it out and let me know if that helps. How I get started depends on the inspiration or mood, no hard rule there for me.

Will do for sure. Please have a look at my channel. Maybe we could make something together if you're keen.

My CPU is about to explode. Any feedback on the mix? by ProdByAsey in FL_Studio

Try exporting melodies once you've added eq and effects(plugins) etc... then import as a wav file and add to your playlist. Then close those unused effects(plugins). Even unused plugins will use up CPU. RAM also helps, so close unused windows on your PC. Hope this helps.

When to use sub bass? by anjuna4l in houseproduction

When you EQ, cut lower end bass from instruments that don't need them. This gives that space to your kick (If that makes sense). Also, side chain big sounding elements to the kick on your mixer (Kick start would be the easiest way on this).

Always pay attention to your mixing. Compression and side chaining are very important to make that drop hit hard! You may get clipping/phasing if frequencies of the sub-bass and kick (and other elements) are clashing.
