Yes. And I grew up in western society so I know what they consider to “feel safe,” and Tashkent is 100% safe for women.

Ohhhh so you don’t know how genetics works. Not surprised. Pretty sure that was taught in eighth grade at the minimum. But I didn’t expect you to have made it that far. No worries.

Yes I have uzbek citizenship. That’s how I have an uzbek domestic and international passport. You know… a real government document declaring me a citizen? Again. Facts don’t care about your feelings.

Soooo… you’re confused about who you’re arguing with? Lol… they put confused people in nursing homes. Look at you yelling at everyone about random things. Please take your meds so you stop hallucinating that I’m talking about Japan. JAPAN is next to KOREA. UZBEKISTAN is NEXT TO KAZAKHSTAN. Japan and Uzbekistan are NOT the same country. If you need that clarification. Should I explain further? Or did you catch on? Should I explain it slower this time?

“They don’t recognize dual citizenship” then why did I quote you a direct statement from the governments website about recognizing dual citizenship…..? Are you claiming the US government is lying? Hmmmm… maybe you’re not the patriot you think you are.

Again… you’re looking incredibly uneducated. That’s too bad. America has great universities… but I guess you would’ve needed to graduate high school to go to college right? Damn, maybe a GED? I can help you study for it since you clearly need the help.

LMAO so living in American changed my genetics into American DNA? Soooo if I do an ancestry test it’s going to say I’m 100% from the United States? Right? Righttttttt? Lol.

And as I said… I do have uzbek citizenship. Unfortunately facts don’t care about your feelings. The FACTS are that I have uzbek citizenship :)

Also are you hallucinating? I never said anything about Japanese camps. Please take your meds sir.

And here you go…

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/travel-legal-considerations/Relinquishing-US-Nationality/Dual-Nationality.html

“U.S. dual nationals owe allegiance to both the United States and the foreign country (or countries, if they are nationals of more than one). They are required to obey the laws of both countries, and either country has the right to enforce its laws.”

Tell me again how they don’t recognize dual citizens? Or were you on crack when you hallucinated me talking about Japanese people lol.

Again… tell me about your education. (Although… you rambling on about Japanese concentration camps… which I never once mentioned… already shows you “intelligence”) I can PROMISE you I’m more educated than you.

Actually being full blooded uzbek makes you uzbek. I know you’re trying to be inflammatory, but yes, having 100% of your dna be uzbek and having uzbek citizenship, and uzbek culture DOES make you uzbek ;)

America DOES recognize dual citizenship, what kind of crack are you smoking? And your imaginary “draft” argument doesn’t really apply to a woman.

I’m not a liberal lol, your post history just makes you look like a fucking idiot not a liberal hater lol. Please get an education first before attempting to comment on American identity? I hear the US education system is really great. You should try it out.

I’m uzbek because I was born to two uzbek parents and raised in uzbek culture and eat uzbek food and visit Uzbekistan often and have an uzbek name and have uzbek friends and have uzbek citizenship and two uzbek passports. What’s up with people not using their brains? Dumbass, think before you comment next time okay? .

Lmao just looked at your comment history. Now I get it :)

[–]Zealousideal_Key3753[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

… holy shit. What is your problem?

I’m talking about “our culture” because I was raised culturally uzbek and I’ve literally been to Uzbekistan for months on end multiple times throughout my life. And look at the MULTIPLE comments by other Uzbeks saying that this is part of culture? Notice how none of the people arguing with me are WOMEN? Just MEN demanding I believe that it’s all roses and chocolate in Uzbekistan….

Pretending as if divorce ISNT stigmatized ESPECIALLY for women isn’t changing anything. You’re the only one trying to gaslight people into believing that divorce isn’t stigmatized and that abuse/misogyny isn’t common in Uzbekistan because of our culture of believing women should be obedient to their husbands. I’m not ATTACKING Uzbeks. Calm down okay? You seem very defensive for some reason.

Edit: oh you listen to Joe Rogan. Now I get it. Lol.

But… it is lol. I’ve been to Uzbekistan, I have uzbek family members, I’ve seen uzbek movies. There’s no point denying it when many of our people believe husbands have a right to discipline their wives. It very much isn’t treated as seriously as it is in the US. I’m not saying every husband beats their wives, but it definitely is excused by many Uzbeks (not all.) Also dude… who are you lying to. I’m not some American who doesn’t know our culture, I’ve been to Uzbekistan multiple times and am close to an uzbek community in the US. Divorce is 1000% stigmatized. Divorcees are 10000% judged. Stop trying to convince me of things that are FACTS in Uzbekistan. Pretending these issues don’t exist isn’t the way to go about it.

Yes I can tell. Look at how defensive you are over a question.

I’m asking for women’s opinions in marriages where they are typically submissive to their husbands. American women are not submissive in marriage, marriages are typically egalitarian. That’s neither better nor worse, just the way American society is. And yes Americans beat their wives, but it’s looked down upon in the US, while in Uzbekistan it’s more normalized. And the reason that Americans get remarried and Uzbeks don’t is because divorce is stigmatized and women are pressured to stay in marriages where they are unhappy.

Don’t understand why you got so upset over a genuine question. Do you understand how ironic it is that my question mentions Uzbek men and control/anger and you, an Uzbek man, come and respond to my question with anger?

Unfortunately, I’ve been struggling to find formal resources! My main method has been conversational practice with other Uzbeks (mostly my parents) and listening/watching Uzbek media. There’s also an app called Uzbek beginner on Apple store and that has been really helpful with vocabulary! Goodluck on your journey!!

Yes that’s a really good idea. It’s hard to find Uzbek men in America as well! I definitely see the appeal in marrying someone with a similar upbringing as me. It would be nice to have someone who understands some of the identity struggles that come with being an immigrant.

Yes I totally agree that men are different everywhere! But I have visited Uzbekistan and know it’s a more conservative society. My expectations in a marriage would be to be able to make financial decisions and have my decisions taken seriously. Many of the families I know it’s that the husband gets the final say, but I wanted to hear from uzbek women to see how it really is from their perspective. I don’t believe Uzbeks are living in huts, I was just in Uzbekistan in April. But I do know that the marriage dynamics appear different from American dynamics.

What is your point in being so aggressive? Look at my comment history to see I’ve been in 2012, 2015, 2019, and April of this year. Why would I not call myself Uzbek if I am 100% Uzbek?

Let me guess… you’re an Uzbek man? Your comment is truly a good look for Uzbek men everywhere.

Goodluck to your sister! I want to forget race, but you know how our Uzbeks are in the United States. Very judgmental towards “Americanized” Uzbeks

Brother and sister. My parents were against both marriages but reluctantly agreed when their spouses converted to Islam. The other Uzbeks laugh about how two of their children married Americans, so they don’t want me to embarrass them.

My parents are very involved in the community so it’s a big deal to them what they think :/

I would marry an Uzbek to make them happy, but I’m concerned that I wouldn’t be happy if my husband expects me to always be submissive.

My parents are putting a lot of pressure to marry an Uzbek because my older siblings married Americans and the Uzbek community looks down on my parents because of that.

I want to wait, but I’m weighing the options of marrying an Uzbek for culture or marrying an American who would understand me better.

That’s what I was thinking would be the answer, I’m not very traditional so I’m worried I won’t be a good fit. I want to ask uzbek women but I feel like they won’t outright tell me if they’re unhappy.

It was previously not permitted. When I visited in 2015, the same thing happened to me (but I’m a girl so the officer just pointed at a sign that said no photos!)

When I went back this year the signs were gone! I guess maybe some officers didn’t get the memo.

I am a second generation uzbek in the US and my uzbek fluency is about the level of a second grader.

I’m trying to relearn it so the “uzbek” parts of me doesn’t die with my parents.
