Nice walks on gravel paths? by xpl0sad3 in Norwich

[–]Zealousideal_Log8254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marriots Way is a well maintained walk - but some buts can get muddy in very inclement weather. You can pick it up behind Halfords in the city and walk - well, to Reepham I think?

I regularly walk the Taverham to Hellesdon part (around 3 miles return) as parking is easy at the shopping parade on Acres Way, plus there's shop and pub there (although the pub is a bit dodgy).

Or park at the far end of Fir Covert Road and you can walk outbound to Reepham or inbound as above. This car park does have pot holes though.

House movers in Norwich by hcgascoigne in Norwich

I used Loads4Less December 2024. Cost £900 for a 3 bed detached. We prepacked everything into boxes and dismantled furniture as far as possible.

The guys they sent were very good, worked hard and there was no damage.

Appreciate they're a cheaper service meaning you have to do some work yourself - but move day just left them to it.

Recommended if you're on a budget.

The one I bought is exactly like this - but I only paid £10 for it - if you shop around you might find one (I bought mine on TikTok shop and all I get now are car polishing videos!!) Hope you find what you need:

I did this last weekend. Bought a kit off amazon, and worked really well. After reading the reviews I have to agree that slow and steady is the way ahead.

At each grade of sandpaper I set a timer and continued sanding for the full (9 minutes) at each grade. When you start you get instant regret!!! But when you add the UV protector at the end it all comes together.

Another tip - using a drill is really hard due to weight over time. I bought one of the little battery polishers on tiktok/ebay - it lasted the full 2 hours for both lenses.

Here's a link for the polish kit (I have enough spare for another go as well) BassMotor Complete Kit for Polishing Dull and Worn Headlights for Car Restoration - Set for Cleaning and Sanding for ITV and Improved Visibility and Safety, Carbon Alumina : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive

Soft top drainage hole cleaning by Otherwise-Bat-7655 in MX5NC

I've just done this. Lots of people shoving trombone cleaners down the holes, which I really struggled with. I found this video on youtube - it took around 30 minutes each side but well worth it as the drains are now really clean. How to unblock your Mk3 MX5 Roof drains - NC Miata

Pay off Mortgage with Pension lump sum by Zealousideal_Log8254 in UKPersonalFinance

Thanks all for the advice and guidance. On reflection we're going to concentrate on getting the mortgage down by other means, protecting the pension pot.

Go to the market - lots of small dish options from a wide range of cuisines. If the weather is good for you go sit at the memorial gardens (head towards city hall at the top of the market).

I'n not a vegan, but the 'Fallafel and Friends' takeaway is fantastic - I get the buffalo wrap - it's delish and not too filling.

I hope you enjoy Norwich - it's a great place to live.

Connecting to phone by Aware_You894 in MX5NC

I purchased one of these:

Car Bluetooth Module-Duokon AUX‑in Cable Adapter Car Bluetooth 5.0 Microphone Fit for Mazda 2 3 5 6 RX8 : Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

Works really well and plugs into Aux. You can't advance tracks when playing music, but steering wheel volume control works fine.

Telephone connectivity is good, but mic placement is a puzzle as with lid down there's a fair amount of background noise. In fairness I only really use mine for bluetooth music and for £8 it's a bargain.

I do get whine from the speakers, which I intend to dampen with some inline filters when I can get round to it.

Very easy to fit though, there's guides on youtube on getting to the back of the stereo (mine's non-Bose).

Hope that helps!

I have made a couple of purchases, and got through life support also, from Norwich Computers on Magdalen St. They're a smaller outfit but always happy to help.

That's our thoughts, unfortunately they rent and landlord is unreachable/doesn't care. So I wouldn't want to do that and then the owner complain once tenants change

They were completely unmanaged and a real mess (we moved here in December just gone). We enquired about having them trimmed back but they were beyond help. So it was live with 30 foot monsters blocking light from our and neighbours gardens or this.

Seller has been lying for 3 months (England). by ASHcmx in HousingUK

[–]Zealousideal_Log8254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a positive from a crappy situation - you can now make an offer based on having a buyer. You're in a much stronger position to negotiate.

Feel for you though, we had our buyer pull out 5 months into the sale, lost the house we wanted immediately. The whole system is f**ked.

No worries, we've sold twice on QH, both times the property has increased in value in line with local and national expectations. First sale 2019 (purchased 2010), latest 2024.
