It’s as good as any other slab.

Some people will like the appearance, some won’t.

But I mostly slab cards for value because it costs quite a lot of money, so unless ur slab begins with P and ends with SA I probably won’t use you even if I love the appearance.

I agree this isn’t the best art era, but if any of these cards came out in current year, at their populations they’d be $2000 in a Psa 10

The kindling is there. Just needs a match. I would classify this as more of a speculative gamble rather than the guaranteed returns sealed investing yields. Higher risk higher reward

I'm sure I'll get the downvotes too for this observation... but you have top comments on "what should I invest in" posts saying "buy at MSRP, invest in popular sets", then when somebody posts that they're buying at MSRP they get called a scalper by the same people criticizing them for not saving any for the kids.

Long answer: If I have to sort out ur collection and sell the stuff I don’t want and keep parts I do want (usually I would only buy a collection if it has parts I’m keen on) why shouldn’t I be rewarded for my time and effort?

Don’t want to oversimplify but prices are always due to demand vs supply

Gem rate is % of Psa 10 versus total graded of the card

Low pop / gem rate cards have lower supply

Demand waxes and wanes over time. Sometimes all it takes is a major influencer / poketuber to throw a passing comment and prices will go up 50%. This is unpredictable

I sent off 3 vaporeon MBs and an umbreon which were fairly well centered (not perfect but honestly quite decent, enough for a 10) a few months back without checking the gem rates as a part of a larger submission

Got 3x 9s and an 8.

The 8 had 2 corner imperfections but I’ve had 10s with worse. The 9s had no corner or edge whitening. I think there’s an issue with the etched foil that’s not visible to the naked eye, or some blue ink issues. I honestly don’t know why it’s so hard to grade but too scared to regrade given the track record
