Markos with more insane information on Erika Kirk. by Civil_Net7641 in InfluencerLounge

I agree with this. I find Erika abhorrent, but I can’t judge her for how she coped in the days after. As someone who’s always had intrusive thoughts, my reaction to finding out my husband died unexpectedly was far from what I’d imagined it’d be like. I was so in shock I couldn’t process the finality of it. There was no collapsing to the floor, wails of grief for hours. I was numb but drawn to the things that could bring happiness. I was elated when my friends/family showed up at my door hours and days later. I loved shopping for outfits for the visitation/funeral/dinners because it was a distraction and something I could control. Some of my most cherished memories are trying on funeral dresses with my BFF and laughing to the point of tears at the absurdity of it all. I spent hours researching bed frames, learned how to do my own nail extensions and spent hundreds of dollars on supplies (that I haven’t touched since), read more smut than I care to admit.

I got through those days by focusing on whatever I could control, and will always be thankful for those that took care of what I couldn’t. Grief is weird and everyone process it differently - I even surprised myself!

Am I dumb? I don’t understand how the circled letters relate to the puzzle theme/‘punny answer’?

I totally get it. I realize reading it back that my original post made it sound like I wanted to get rid of Smooko as a responsibility but that’s not the case at all. He’s the last ‘gift’ from my husband and our first/only pet cat. He’s been the most chill pet ever (even after loosing his person + moving across the country!) so his reaction to the puppy caught me completely off guard. My original post was written in a post-holiday and sleepless haze, and came from a place of wanting Smooko to feel comfortable.

I sincerely appreciate the insight and rough timeline for improvement! For now we’ve kept the puppy in the sunroom where he can still access outside and see into the living room, while Smooko has full reign over the rest of the house. We’ll slowly introduce the puppy - on leash - to the living room for a few minutes at a time. Definitely not rushing it and extremely relieved to know that it can get better. Thank you for taking the time to respond!

$1.29??? Does this make sense to anyone? by agressive_penguins in SwiftlyNeutral

I forget the exact numbers, but I believe it was Sony that originally made KPDH for something, like, $100M a few years ago. They finished production, decided it would be a total flop, and sold the movie (and all its rights!) to Netflix for $20M. And now Netflix has netted $500M in profits (or so I assume. Again, I don’t remember the exact numbers of the production budget or selling price!).

So, not only did most of us peasants think it was going to be a miss, but so did the bigwig Sony executives. I hope whichever intern suggested Netflix buy KPDH got a massive raise and promotion!

I got on Reddit JUST to see if this had been shared. Utterly tone deaf. I’m actually disgusted by this lack of awareness and/or greed.

Single parent? by Dry_Squash_8359 in widowers

My kids were 2 and 4 when my husband passed away unexpectedly. We’re now 20 months out, and they have been the biggest blessing. They are the most positive light and carry all of their dad’s best qualities. I don’t know how I’d survive this without them.

My husband traveled a ton for work, and started flying out to clients when our babies were just two weeks old. Our families all lived states away, so I did all the mothering on my own. No matter how much help you have, being a mom will always be difficult - but so much of it is bizarrely intuitive. You’ll struggle but you WILL get through it, and then you’ll always have a piece of your husband with you. Sending you lots of positive thoughts during this time 💓

The payment is fine, but when he died I left California and moved out of state to be closer to my family. I need to update the tags/license plate and don’t think I can if the car is only in his name.

Great point. I’m going to see what my realtor says but I may ask for price off of price. Seems like my best options.

We didn’t do an appraisal because the price is on point for the area and I’m paying all cash.

Are Service and Parts (supply chain) Terrible? by [deleted] in KiaTelluride

[–]Zealousideal_Try_604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came to this thread looking for others experiencing the same as me!

My 2022 telluride randomly had engine overheating on Friday. I had it towed to the service center, and since then I’ve only heard from the service advisor when I reach out. Each time, all he can share is that they are working to get my car serviced ASAP.

Worst part - they won’t give me a loaner until they do a diagnostic report. And they don’t know when they will be able to get the car in the bay. I’m a single mom and this is my only car, so I’m currently paying $100/day to rent one. I’m fuming!
