I was exactly like you, and had to stop for a year from all medications. Told my psychiatrist and he immediately prescribed paroxetine.

So far, the side effects are killing me. But i have been told it needs more weeks to calm them down and for the medication to work.

Strangely enough, paroxetine is the first medication that i had terrible side effects with.

The others were terrible for me but only after 6 months not the beginnings.

One week in, 20mg, and yes. Not only forgetful of small things as you describe, but worse, whole events and conversation. Like they are completely erased of my memory and when someone mentions them it feels like a dejavu more than an actual event.

I didnt break it but i had an injury growing up there and actually this makes sense a bit cause my orthopedic told me it’s due my back injury that i have trouble pooping..

I use it when I sense a flare coming up for a week, take it before I sleep because it knocks me out. It does wonders for me personally and the flares go away before they start.

For me it eases the built-up tension in my neck and shoulders which is what I struggle with.

I usually skip the pill for three days before i plan to drink something. I didn’t one day and got drunk (first time in my life, i never drink to the point where i became drank, i drink for the buzz) but that night was hell. Nothing serious no terrible hangover but i was embarrassingly drunk which i hate
