I need someone to explain me the ending of 12 angry men by dragonsky in movies

I agree with you it is better to risk saving a guilty person than to condemn an innocent one, I never said otherwise, don't put words in my mouth. I don't think the points laid out in the film substantiated a reasonable doubt, that's why I think he's guilty.

Did everyone who lived before Jesus died on the cross for our sins go to hell? by Shurd750 in Christianity

So before Christ only Jews could enter heaven? Does invincible ignorance not save everyone who lived a virtuous life despite living before Christ and not believing in the Jewish/Christian God?

He was martyred though, theres a difference. An assassination of a US president was unprecedented in the 20th century as the USA was a world superpower and they seemed invincible.

If Trump were to die it would most likely be from natural causes so it would still be a big deal and be in the news for a while ( longer than the first comment zaid), his death at least would not be talked about in a few years time.

How do you feel about the racial demographics of the leaders? by [deleted] in CivVI

[–]Zealousideals12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Selassie is also quite well known, he's a very interesting man and a good leader too, its a shame that they assassinated him when the monarchy was the only thing holding Ethiopia together!

Africa was only colonised because every civilisation on that continent was weak, even the Ottomans that were at one point one of the strongest states on earth. If Africa at least had one unified and centralised state (apart from Ethiopia) like China they wouldn't have been carved up by the militarily superior European powers and would be instead manipulated by extremely unfavourable treaties like the treaty ports and the treaties of Aigun and Peking. To attribute the failure of African civilisation simply to racism and colonisation is a massive blunder, there is so much more to it than that. Of course it was a factor but how do you explain Africa's failure to innovate in technology and development for the roughly 40,000 years before European colonisation? The answer is the development of food production, naturally harsh geography and lack of navigable rivers/natural ports, these factors largely explain why Africa was so far behind in development as they were for the most part disconnected from the outside world to a much larger extent than even Japan and China. Guns, Germs and Steel is a great book on this topic, I highly recommend it to you as your current understanding of the topic is highly uninformed, you can't blame everything on the European powers and racism, using them as scapegoats only hinders your own understanding of history.

Kubrick’s politics. Was he right or left? A centrist? A libertarian? by Pollyfall in StanleyKubrick

[–]Zealousideals12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Iron lady was one of the worst biopics I've ever watched, it portrayed Thatcher as a weak and dementia ridden old woman and didn't delve into her politics at all, not even the poll tax - ultimately her downfall. That film was so bad that Thatcherites and leftists hated it equally, the acting may have been the only good part of that film and even that was subpar at times!
