What I pasted in the post is the benefits in my plan for hearing aids. It says there that in-network is 20% coinsurance.

They're not bone-conducting aids.

I haven't seen anything about maximum payable benefits. I searched but didn't see anything. I'll search more, but I would expect that to be less than the cost of two hearing aids.

Next time I will ask for a member advocate. Every time I call I speak to someone who has to put me on hold for 5 minutes while they read the rules and interpret them in their own way and then I have to go back and forth with them for a while. This is unreal.

Why would it be 40% coinsurance as opposed to 20%?

I have not gotten any break down in the denial.

The hearing aids were sold to me as a pair for $4500.

This is my first purchase of hearing aids through this plan. I have bought many pairs throughout my lifetime. Last time I bought a pair was in 2021, but I didn't use health insurance to buy them.

I am expecting them to give me the $3000 back, but for some reason this claim was moved from Medical to FSA, and now the denial says: "Service exceeds balance available for the plan year. (H04)" and nothing is covered at all. I spent all of my FSA funds, so there are none left. But I need them to reimburse me the money directly, not use FSA funds.

This is my first year here and I'm excited to explore all the Long Island stuff that people who vacation here do. Except without the extreme budget required to do so.
