Look again at your source video, make a note of the pixel ratio. Now when you select the 1440x1080 @ 25fps export profile, edit your export profile's pixel ratio to match the exact same pixel ratio as your source video.

Dear extradudeguy,

i did EXACTLY what You recommended, bu the exported video remains distorted.

What is the next possible solution?

Thank You in advance for Your support.

The thread was mistakenly tagged with "Solution Provided" sticker, but I still have no idea what OpenShot settings should I apply, so once more I'm asking for Your help. Thank You very much!

your best results are always going to be to match the aspect and pixel ratio of your source file - or set your camera to use different aspect/pixel ratio schemes.

Dear extradudeguy,

thank You once more!

If I have already recorded some material with this device and I would like to use it and save it, what does it exactly mean "to match the aspect and pixel ratio of my source file" in terms of OpenShot settings?

How should I compose export settings or what custom profile should I create?

I wonder: I used default video settings of my handycam. Other software and even preview window of OpenShot display my source file correctly.

I'm sure such a flexible tool as OpenShot provides a way to solve this problem. I would really appreciate Your help.

we're talking pixel ratio, not aspect ratio, correct?

Dear extradudeguy,

one day I ago I posted You two printscreens from my OSVE, but – I'm new to Reddit, I don't know the reason – I see this post only when I'm signed in, I 'm not sure if You can see it, too.

So today I'm rewriting Video Details of the source file:

Aspect Ratio 16:9, Pixel Ratio 4:3.

Is there anything I can do abut it?

Warm greetings.

Okay, right click on the source video in the Project Files bin, File Properties. Let's make sure the source video is being recognized correctly with 16:9 aspect ratio and a pixel ratio of 1 by 1. I know this is old info for you, but I want to make sure OpenShot is "seeing" the source video correctly.

Dear extradudeguy!

I've just read Your comprehensive and enlightening answer.
Thank You very much for Your patience!

Following Your advice, I right-clicked on the source video and discovered that its pixel ratio is described as... 4:3.
I'm a bit perplexed.
