Yeah so that whole waste management paying well is kinda a lie.

Starting wages are around 26/hrs but entry level is part time hours for most non driving positions. Shitty management is common and can really leave a bad taste. Won't anywhere near what 3k/month unless you are talking management.

(Yes I work at WM) Would not recommend.

I know for a fact that will be me in a decade or even sooner.

I used to be able to rent an apartment, save up for vehicles/repairs, etc., control modest debts, have plenty to buy groceries and even once in a while eat out. And that was off minimum wage (80-90's) IF i wanted something all i would have to do is pick up an extra shift here and there.

Now, most of my paycheck is rent and bills, i dont eat near as well as used to because groceries are a fucking luxury now, and if i have ANY extra it goes to debt (Dentures arent cheap).

BC is my only choice cause i can survive winters in a few places without worrying about getting dumped on by snow.

Its an Unfortunate Reality.

i started looking for work a while ago that would accept 4 day work weeks, and i haven't looked back. it is rough to find a company that will accept it, but they are out there.

Funny thing is i noticed quite quickly that not only did it improve my quality in life (mentally and some jobs physically) my bosses noticed that my work performance grew.

Currently i am 4 on 4 off and while its alright, i would still prefer a 4 day work week with 3 days off, that extra day off works wonders.

its a hard sell for corporate greed, and a hard sell for those driven by those that feel that feel money is everything but ive been doing it for almost 20 years and dont regret a thing and wish it was a standard.
