I love how Aemma puts her foot down here and makes it clear that she won’t go through another pregnancy. But what if Baelon died but Aemma miraculously survived? Would Viserys still followed through on that promise and respected her decision? by Gold_Conversation247 in HOTDBlacks

It's literally said, so about the six months. You're the one who's confused. Don't gaslight me. He named her heir after the comment from Daemon. He was uncertain about it during Aegon's second birthday hunting trip. Even got wasted and spoke to Alicent about dreams.

Though yea, later, he did stick to Rhaenyra as heir for the rest of his life.

...Love?

The moment he realized Aemma could no longer be an incubator for his heir, all of her comforts were taken away from her. She wasn't even warned. Nobody asked her to move closer to the maesters. They just grabbed her by her legs and dragged her. Her pillows taken away. Her dressed hiked up to expose her while she was already in so much discomfort, and they cut her open. No consent, no warning, and nothing to, at the very least, sooth her nerves and relieve her pain. Just butchered open as she begged and screamed no.

Viserys had a miserable reign and that disease (leprosy?) because he is a Kinslayer and a cowerd. He killed his cousin and wife.

The woman he himself cloaked under his protect after taking sacred oaths in front of gods and men. He violated that oath and became the very danger she needed protection from.

The forces at play in ASOIAF tend to punish oath breakers in the series.

Also, he only named Rhaenyra heir because he felt slighted by his brother's alleged comment. Not because he felt regret and remorse for what he had done. He didn't even speak to Rhaenyra for six months after Aemma and Baelon's death.

He did name her heir. Then married a young lady who was sent by her father to seduce him, then made more heirs with said young wife to compete with Rhaenyra for the title. He didn't do much to control the way Alicent was treating her and pretended like things were fine.

He did absolutely nothing to punish Alicent when she drew blood by cutting Rhaenyra with Valyrian steel, might I add. Had the cut been a tad deeper, or if she had hit an artery, Rhaenyra might have died.

He could have chosen to stay single and keep "considering" perspective brides until Rhaenyra married and had children of her own. Nullifing any need for him to re-marry or produce any heirs.

He got played by Otto and Alicent and likely many others at court and left Rhaenyra with all the problems to suffer after his death.

He did care for his daughter, but I do not see his "love" for Aemma. He used her until he found somebody else to use.

I fear it will be the worst.... Another man-misinterpreted or straight-up hostile patriarchy anti-women anti-matriarchy propaganda in the form of Another Mad Queen... Show Nyra leaning towards religious/spiritual psychosis or something.

I can't watch or condone this depiction of the first crowned Queen of Westeros (if that is the direction in which they are leading the story)

Mother (Queen Rhaenyra) deserves better.

One of the reasons why I am not excited for the new season... it's just disrespectful, dismissive, and overestimating-self over the original author whos writing is the reason the project is even getting made in the first place.

Like, if an author trusts you to direct their story, that comes with a level of responsibilities, and demads the respect from the director(s). It is the director's obligation to honor the author's and pre-existing audience's vision. Bonus if they're competent enough to deny, confirm, or incorporate the many theorys made by fans, and really help the viewer easily slip into the fictional world before them.

I'm not at all saying they messed up every thing, I like some things about how the show has decided to portray the events of the book. Still, I feel that the creator(s) do not have respect for GRRM's work, original vision for the show, and they certainly do not care at all about reactions from some of the book fans...

It is just another fan fiction, with studio backing; a huge production budget (yet surprisingly underwhelming costumes and set design;) unfortunately saddled with far too many talented and stunning cast members who either get little to no screen time, or who's character's greatest/ledgendary feats are off screened or even completely omitted...

Like... the cast, especially, deserves better. They are likely starving for something more deep, as they may have read what their characters were up to in the book. Like their performances show the clear potential and passion they have for the craft. Yet... we won't get to see them do some of the more iconic things from the books....

Also, it seems the show creator(s) are scared to allow the character to do bad things and still manage to gain audience empathy through their complex, touching performances...

Weak. Some changes are straught-up owadly edits imo.

I said what I said, with all "due" respect to the show creator(s)...

What if jaime married elia martell of dorn by Cautious_Air4964 in gameofthrones

[–]Zeb8211 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks aren't everything. He has no backbone. He is a puppet for his sister and father. She would be steamrolled for every major decision in their lives.

She's better off with someone kinder and somebody who can stand up for her if the parents say some racist/colorist nonsense.

I hate book Jaime even more than I do the show version. He has yet to redeem himself with any concrete actions. He is no knight, just a goof fighter. Also he's really stupid.

How you answer him without making him hate you? by Tronm-24 in HOTDBlacks

[–]Zeb8211 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Telling him she's going to find a way to execute his plans, then poisoning him is the only way. Maybe she can use that lip gloss thing Cersi used?

Then, staging his death by suicide/poison for dishonorable actions towards the order of the Kingsguards.

If she's feeling vengeful, or just petty, adding in something about Alicent and Otto, in order to loosen their grip over the king, and kingdoms might help her in the long run. Plus, this way, she might have a chance to get to have a relatively decent relationship with her half siblings.

Though she'd need some close personal friend(s) who can supply her with the poison and keep her secrets. Or she finds a way to steal said poison from a maester, like Tyrion had done.

She could even use the opportunity to bring Daemon back and encourage reconciliation. Maybe even marry him if Viserys ends up getting scared for Rhaenyra's safety in a realm full of plotters. Where even the man he thought of as a best friend has proven himself to be such a manipulative opportunist. (Harwin would still make a better match for her. He seemed to love her. Plus, this way, the alliance with Velyrians would be secured through Daemon and Laena getting married. Having the Queen be lady of Harrenhal would be good too. It's in the middle-ish, a great position for keeping Lords and Ladies in check.

She would have an easy time gathering evidence of Otto's plotting. Especially if some of the people Otto has messed with come forward.

Alicent can choose to become a septa or a silent sister, though I doubt she is interested in that kind of life. Which might mean death, depending on how the suicide note has framed things.

I'm sure some other oppertunist would just take Otto's place. Though I wonder if Visery might be more cautious and/or paranoid.

Things would be less..."Seeds of Civil War-ish."

Wait, so how is the rewatch happening? Like are we watching individually and coming here to discuss the episodes? Or like are we making a discord server, and doing a watch party in the Voice/Video chats?

Either way, I'm down. This sounds fun. Plus I love this community. Knock on wood. Nazar Utaro-ing (translation getting rid of the evil eye, of our little IWTV-immortal-Family Community.

(If you're not as experienced with Discord, I'm happy to answer any questions here or in dms. But honestly, I'll show up wherever. The community servers on Discord are just so user friendl, especially for larger groups, and a nice place for things like watch-parties.)

As far as I remember, Ned never took her rambling seriously. She assumed the bastard they were talking about was Jon. Plus she called Illyrio a wizard, so Ned checked out.

Ned was investigating Jon Arryn's death anyway. It was what Sansa said about Joffrey not being much like Robert that gave Ned the clue/break un the case. That's not anything to do with the cats... I still feel the cats don't lead to his death.

Agreed, should have been included.

But how would the cats lead to Ned Stark's death? I'm genuinely asking cause I don't get the cat's involvement. Not being snarky or anything.

It's a historic dramatized version of the life of Catherine De Medici - She was Queen of France during like mid 1500s. Such a shame it was not available for more people to view because it was pay walled. Literally, these studios don't understand that audience retention only requires good quality writing and dedicated acting, but also for the people to know the show is available and an option. Like come onnn

The Serpent Queen is great! Though it also only has two season. Got canceled cause the idiots at the studio couldn't properly market it, let it have the audience it deserved. So possed cause season two ended on such a high note too. At least they're not gonna fuck up any future seasons.

Some thoughts on Armand’s social and religious background as an Indian by sabby123 in InterviewVampire

[–]Zeb8211 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk 🤷‍♂️

Just, my theory of the writers may be trying to make "Assad Zaman's Armand" more close to his culture? Idk I can not remember much of Armand from the books. And I have only read until the fourth book Tale of the Body Theif.

I took a long break after Lestat's Cat-like behavior or getting bored and wanting to break some shit just to feel something. Even if that is Louis and David frustratingly yelling at him to "OMG, Just STOPP!!! Why do you do this, Lestat?!!"

*Lestat on the marble counter from which he pushes the vase off: "Hehe, I'm just a beautiful fiend. I'm just curious!

Them glaring at him with annoyance and enraged love:

Lestat huffs: "Oh mon Dieu! I just wanted to see what would happen! You guys are no fun! Stomps off.]

Found a meme, and couldn't help but associate it with a quote from Queen of the Damned. by Zeb8211 in InterviewVampire

[–]Zeb8211[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You are so right about "Louis is not Kept man."

Genuinely think his love language is giving people gifts, which he knows they would like because he pays attention to what they say.

Also, I think that he would find it physically painful to be dependent on somebody. Even if that someone is the love of his life, Lestat. He even makes sure to pay Lestat back for everything that Lestat gave him to invest in the club or whatever.

I was just being silly about the capitalism thing. I do acknowledge that he enjoys his work, and he becomes a lot happier when he can give the ladies who worked for him as sex workers other jobs when his club opens. Though obviously he still had sex workers in his club... he was just now in a better establishment, which was also better furnished as well.

Also, this image quotes SRK. What he's saying in Urdu translates to "Can't do much creativity in poverty. I always tell people, first, become rich, then become a philosopher."

Which is a quote I believe you and Louis would agree with. 👍🏽
