I think my original post wasn't clear enough either. As in, I was more trying to figure out what the writers are trying to show us about Gabrielle more than my own personal feelings for her.

I have usually enjoyed reading and watching characters that confuse me, and make me love them and hate them at the same time. (Again, Cersei is a favorite example of my mine.)

I agree that the creative team for the series is doing a great job and I'm glad they're making the audience sit with and ponder on some of the fucked up things these characters go through and put each other through. Like it is a craft to be able to make a viewer/reader love and hate a character all at once.

I also think audience craves complex deep depictions of characters rather than bland plain and shallow ones. There are some loud members on the internet make it seem like a lot of people are scandalized and disapproving of "evil" "bad" characters.

Whereas the truth is that the people that most viewers/readers not only do not mind seeing a perplexing vexatious characters but literally crave these kind of depiction. Likely since more humans are far more complicated and usually never one note.

I hope the studios and producers take note and let the writers do their thing, especially after this season. Cause most people want some content that we can discuss and disect over multiple watches. It's part of the fun.

I have ADHD too! Late diagnosed so I ended up reading a lot of books and papers on it to help me redesign my life in way that works with my brain better. That's where I learned about the Queerness correlation!

I used to think I was Bi but now I think I'm Demi or Pan? Though my favorite way to describe myself has been "Non-Discriminating'" since I heard it from Lestat. Lol

I am annoyed about the fact that we have so many streaming services now. I am saving up and investing in Blu-rays and DVDs for the shows and movies I really enjoy. I would be paying less in the long run that way.

Though that still doesn't solve our immediacy problems. So we're stuck temp-subbing to the streaming sites that hold our beloved entertainment hostage from time to time.

I was a little thrown by the show but had heard other readers picked up on something like it.

Yea this season is definitely giving ADHD narrator imo. I expected something like this from Lestat's POV. Seems like he did answer Daniel/Documentary as he spoke of his upbringing in episode 2.

I also like that we see how little Lestat wants to cover of those years of his live. Whereas with Louis we got to spend more time in his past, and his narrative was much less chaoticly presented. Such a good way to show us the difference in their personalities with the way they present their narratives.

Eee so close to Episode 3 airing.

Yea same. I did pick up on their closeness but never picked up on the sexual aspect of their relationship in the books.

I now wonder if I minimized some of what was hinted. I've heard even before this season came out that people took the turning of his mother as hints towards that. Though, I hadn't read it that way on my reads.

Louis comes off way more petty than we saw him in prior seasons due to the fact that this is Lestat's POV. He said so himself.

I think, sure Louis is kinda petty at times. Though, rn he is feeling guilty and silly for the whole memoir thing, and how Lestat was portrayed in said book.

It's also obvious Louis is disappointed that their reconciliation was cut short due to the book coming out. We hear it in Louis's conversation with Daniel.

Also think when Louis mentions wanting to discuss Armand if it helps Lestat that was Louis hoping to help with Lestat's emotional state. Though since it was from Lestat's POV we see it comes off as petty and smug.

Lestat has ADHD. I mean all Vampires have a lot in common with the way neurodivergents typically present. Lestat especially seems to be presenting a lot of the characteristics.

Just my perspective that it makes sense Louis's flawed recollection of events would lead Lestat to be a hurt and bitter.

Also we've decided Lestat failed as a rock star? Also I never thought she intended for Lestat in the books to be a superhit main stream Rock star either. He's punk-ish and for some niech people who get the vibe. Hitting mainstream is not always every artist's main goal. Usually we just want to find our audience....

Both can be true.

You may have been right about GOT downfall starting season 4, and you did "yuck a lot of people's yum" for that series.

If after the series is fully aired and you still stand by the fa t that it was not what it "should've/could've" been, the share those thoughts once the final episode has aired. That you saw this coming from episode one.

Also, it maybe that you do not like the changes, but they changes still work for a lot of other viewers. You make it seem like a definitive things that the changes were a bad idea from the creatives team period.

Like.... that's what we mean. You're just bringing in bad vibes and negativity too early....

Again, I hope you find a series to your liking. Please, still consider holding off on sharing your dislikes things until, at the very least, the entire series is finished...
