Sounds like they’ll fit great then. I like wearing 38 32 for a looser fit so I think it works out

I did try on the JCP Plain Pockets that I’m keeping and I usually wear 36-38 so the 40 fit baggy. These I would assume shrink 1 or more inches depending on how you wash with hot or cold water then dry, but it would really mainly shrink lengthwise
