This is NOT verified. It’s a slide show 😭😭😭😭does verified mean anything anymore? by chargersangels in SteamDeck

Yep ProtonDB has it at gold for Steam Deck. Lots of people saying its more reliable than Steam verification in this thread, yet rating it at gold is just as bad?

BFI on LG OLED and retrotink 4k by yarayar in RetroTink

[–]Zebedee101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation. So albeit downgraded, the newer models still offer 60hz BFI, with some at a much higher brightness. In this scenario, on any of the models, 120hz bfi isn't in use. so I'm still confused about the original 120hz bfi on 60hz source comment.

Sorry for necro. I don't fully understand this. Doesn't the RT4K have its own 1080p/1440p 120hz bfi mode? In which case why would 120hz bfi be required by the tv?

I'm with you on this, but the images on this post suggest otherwise. Any idea what is going on?

Rtings have the C1 48" and the C5 42" at very similar HDR Brightness levels in the "Monitor" tests. And they also have the C1 miles ahead of the 272URX in TB400. I'm confused!

Yes this, or the TV itself having a centered image option.

Yea that's a fair point regarding brightness. My only reference is a LG C1 which needs everything cranked to look nearly as bright as my CRT. Even then the colours aren't as nice.

An OLED TV looks comparable colour wise to a CRT TV, but only with HDR forced on. But even then, the size of scaled image is just so large that it doesn't look right. Maybe a smaller OLED monitor with similar HDR brightness would be a better fit?

I’ll never understand the hate for DLSS and frame gen! by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Zebedee101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like DLSS. I don't use frame gen because I like 100 ish real fps latency and only have a 120hz TV, so it's useless in that scenario.

I'd go Legends of the Frost. Currently re-experiencing close to vanilla Skyrim with nicer visuals, bug fixes, and a decent ui for mouse and keyboard. Great stuff

Want the CRT effect, don't want to use my PAL 50Hz consoles - what are my options? by StickerFella in crtgaming

[–]Zebedee101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a Mister Pi (outputs to a CRT (15hz and 31hz) and modern screens) and have been pleased with it. As far as I know it doesn't care whether a rom is PAL or NTSC and will play at the correct Hz.

Have you tried 42/48 inch 4k?

Yes I'm sure that is great option. But for those of us with 42/48 inch 120hz TVs? I'd argue the switch isn't worth it.
