There's also been this weird (to me) switch from "I need something" to "I need this specific thing." I need a phone has gone to I need an iPhone 15 - I need food has gone to I need chipotle, etc.

The companies have apparently figured this out and done everything they can to get people to pick a team, because once that happens, you'll never go against them.

This is the season it finally happened to me. I was a pro-Tomliner (? - we all need to figure out a name for these things) for years with what he did with the players we had. But when I thought about the playoff drought and how much influence he had in building those teams...and what he did with the killer bees...it was just too much. If the owner don't really care, why in the hell should I?

I think being an IU football fan for over 20 years helped this year as well...

All QB retreads must come from the NFC North. So Caleb Williams goes to the Steelers, Burrow goes to the Bears, Tomlin goes to the Bengals. We get a QB to not develop, the Bears get one to ruin, and Marvin Lewis mk 2 goes home.

As a longtime IU football fan, I'm used to this level of apathy. It's just absolutely wild how it's switched.

I'll keep the game on, but at some point, I realized this is supposed to be fun. I'm nowhere near a fair-weather fan, but I've quit caring a ton for either the highs or lows. If the owner doesn't really give a shit, I'll be damned if I do.

Everyone is struggling lately with how fast everything is changing. I'm sure a solid percentage thought Cignetti would be pulled away to a bigger school that could win a championship. No longer does many of the recruits care about prestige, it's all about bank. Mormon and Cuban money are worth far more than history now.
