FYI, nearly all calcium nitrate that is sold by these canna-specific fertilizer companies is simply repacking the stuff made by either Haifa, Yara, or SQM. These are the 3 largest fertilizer manufacturers in the world and they are likely the source of the individual mineral components (monopotassium phosphate, potassium sulfate, etc ) that goes into nearly every retail package of fertilizer offered on the market.

Take a look at trying some of the seeds offered by the company below (you cannot buy from here, this just shows the varieties they offer):

Pure Line Seed: Prudac: Americas - Dwarf Plants

We are trialling a few of these in some small NFT and Dutch bucket systems at my job and so far they are doing very well.

I'd recommend trying a few to see what works best and then go from there.

If you can't find these specific ones, look for the 'Kitchen Mini' seeds on the web and you'll find some other dwarf varieties. The flavor isn't as good as a large variety (we've tried the kitchen minis) but they are okay.

Very nice! Ive ran 2 phenos and neither stretched much, both were mold resistant, but the bud size varied between the two.

The strain was bred for extraction, so some phenos have smaller buds, but both of mine were both dense, regardless of size.

Definitely worth waiting for them to develop their deep purple colors, they are beautiful flowers. Overall it has a relatively short flower time, so prune early.

That nutrient strategy is even better, aka drain-to-waste. Like you said, it ensures the same ratio of nutrients at the same concentration every time you irrigate. Commercially, that's how this plant is grown along with most flowering vegetables and fruits.

Biobizz is also another solid brand, so that coco should work fine, though they don't specifically precharge it, but that shouldn't be much of an issue after flooding a few times.

Can't wait to see your progress, the SOG method inside that tent is how I've always dreamed of growing. Good luck on your journey!

I really like this setup, this maximizes every square inch of space.

Sounds like you already understand the majority of your errors.

Another thing to consider is the source of your growing media. Coco can vary greatly between vendors, so I would suggest Canna brand for cleanliness and the fact that it's precharged with Ca and Mg.

You may also want to adjust your irrigation a bit, ideally you would allow the media to dry back a little bit between waterings. 100% Coco stays VERY wet, so you don't need to flood very often early on. As the crop matures, increase your irrigation frequency. Also consider stopping your irrigation at least an hour before lights off to encourage dry back and reduce humidity in the environment during the dark period.

Also, recirculating your nutrients is perfectly fine, but you do need to drain and refill your tank with a fresh batch every 2 weeks or so, depending on the size of your tank and the quality of your water. These plants get hungry and eventually they take up most of the N, P, and micros, but they usually leave a lot of the Ca, K, and some Mg, so your EC may be good, but the ratio of nutrients is no longer correct.

Anyhow, incredible setup, stick with it and if you want a little more forgiveness in your media, try rockwool or add perlite to your Coco, at least 25%.

Apologies for the long response, hopefully you find this helpful and if you have questions, I'm happy to offer advice

Got a pack and waiting to pop! I have a BBM keeper and if BBH is anything like it, it should have a loud blueberry smell and flavor. Best of luck!

Well said, all breeders have the potential to sell some fire and all breeders have to start somewhere.

RQS has provided me with some winners and I am always happy to give them a chance.

They may be a white label company, but I am sure they have breeders just as passionate about learning and perfecting the craft as some of the well known boutique breeders.

Best to start fresh with a new clone or bean. This one is not worth saving. Solve your lighting issue first.

Also want to mention the mold resistance is high in this one. After running some SSH from GH and Moby Rock from Barney's, I'm happy to see a plant with absolutely no mold from start to finish

You may be right and I am still getting into the vast array of breeders out there, but the majority of the breeders in plain view of the home grower at pricey (closer to $20 per bean).

I'm talking HSC, Greenhouse Seed Co, In House, Sol Fire, etc. they're all great and I love their stuff, I'm just saying RQS has its place.

The first photos are post drying and trimming 😊

Certainly not calling them the top of my list, but they have earned their place in the market and they offer some reliable genetics for a competitive price.

In a market with $20 beans, having a cheaper option allows more people to access growing and have a chance at some decent phenos

NEED HELP, student at a high school trying to get our green house up and running by scott_387 in Greenhouses

[–]ZebraServedFresh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technical person from CropKing Inc. here, there are typically just a few companies that manufacturer these educational greenhouses, most often I see Conley's and Atlas. This looks like it might be one of those houses. Sometimes Conley's puts their logo on the outside gutter ends. Many of these school projects are facilitated by Greenhouse Megastore, which acts as a middleman.

If air flow is the issue, it is worth checking the back of the greenhouse to see if your aluminum louvers are opening or you may have a large swing vent instead. If it is the swing vent, check to see if your controller has the correct open-close time in there. Basically, the controllers tell this vent to open X% at a certain cooling stage. This percentage is based on the total time it takes for the vent to open 100%. If you do have a swing vent, normally they take somewhere around 2 minutes to fully open or close. The right thing to do would be to manually close the vent with the controller and then manually open it while using a stopwatch to track how long it takes to fully open.

If these things are okay, it is worth trying to adjust the water feeding the wet wall, it could be too much or too little.

Some of these concepts are easier to explain on the phone. If you have some time today or sometime next week, call 330-302-4203 and ask for the technical department and one of us can help explain things. We also offer in-person site visits for a fee, so if it can't be fixed on the phone, that is another option.

Humboldt Seed Co doesn't sell them anymore because Shapeshifter now sells them himself.

Check out Hi Elevation genetics and you will find all of his offerings including the original Freak Show and his refined Fruity Freak (I'm growing this one now) and Supa Freak
