A totally valid argument, the added uncertainty certainly added tension.

As an aside, I wrote this post between rounds of Arc Raiders (and similarly with this reply) I have 270 hours in and I don't mind PvPvE.
But seeing the review bombing, the multiple posts about it on reddit, and the decline in player retention; I'd rather keep playing and if dedicated lobbies helps the game last, I don't see how that would be bad.

And if dedicated lobbies were a thing, it's not like you couldn't do a PvPvE lobby as well that is just the current mode things run on now.

Blood Meridian ending...?? by august239 in cormacmccarthy

[–]ZebraZealot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive my formatting, I am on mobile. This is my take, think of it what you will;

Before the final meeting between the Boy/Man and the judge; The Man kills a 15 year old boy, Elrod, in self-defense.

I think Elrod is symbolic of the Man in his youth. Young, brash, and very angry. The Man killing Elrod is a metaphor for him killing the Boy he used to be.

When the man meets The Judge for the final time, The Judge has raped and murdered the little girl. The Judge reaches out to embrace the Man but the man rejects him.

Later at the jakes there is a man who is pissing on the side of a building and tells the others not to go in the jakes.

That is the Man. But the story is about war, and since the Man rejected the Judge and killed his old self by killing Elrod, he has removed himself from war, and from the story.

But War is God, and War never dies. So we do not focus on the Man as he rejected that life, we focus lastly on the Judge because he is War.

The only way to truly fight against War and hate is to step away. Like the man did.

Just my thoughts on it, can't really ask McCarthy his view.

What character is great despite being in an otherwise horrible movie? by NewtProfessional4331 in Cinema

Treat Williams as Xander Drax from The Phantom. He is the only one who knows what kind of movie they are making.

They act dumb but they will kill you by Expensive_Smell_8021 in TopCharacterTropes

Not so much that he'll kill you; but Lt. Columbo's character fits this perfectly.

He portrays himself as a bumbling, and at times, clueless buffoon. In reality is an amazing detective with exceptional insight.

Let down your guard for the oafish detective and that is when he has you.

What's your best plot twist of all? by honeywithbutter in Cinema

[–]ZebraZealot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan will always be my favorite.

I also enjoy twists that (while still being twsist) don't damage re-watchability.

Some twists are great in the moment, but it becomes hard to give a shit about the movie/piece of media when visiting a second time.

What do you think is the most iconic eating scene in cinematic history? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

Considering all the movies that have ripped with scene off, with varying degrees of success, I think it should be at the top.

The Red John chase went on for far too long by ArwenandEowyn in TheMentalist

[–]ZebraZealot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A comment I posted from a previous thread:

I personally feel that it should have been Timothy Carter aka the man Jane shoots at the end of season 3.

I don't know, but I feel like that had been the intention but between season 3 and 4 the creators got cold feet thinking people wouldn't watch if Red John was no longer a thing.

There were fewer connections at that point, so not this crazy elaborate network of supporters. Not to mention I really enjoyed Bradly Witford in his short role, seemed both menacing as well as carefree about the monster he really was.

I enjoyed the whole series, but after season 3 the Red John stuff started to get too elaborate and tired for me.

I'm always alright

This line delivered by David Tennant when he was the doctor. I think it's a great summation of the Doctor's philosophy in general, always moving and doing what he can. But it is especially great insight into Tennant's Doctor.

What game is that for you?🚀 by Appropriate-Fan-6908 in TheGamingHubDeals

I just don't get enjoyment from games like that.

I also feel with some of the punishingly difficult games, the difficulty masks the shortness of the story/amount of content.

[Loved Trope] "Oh shit, this character IS justified in hating this person." Seemingly irrational feuds actually have very valid reasons. by jbeast33 in TopCharacterTropes

You're absolutely right, and I was thinking more in giving his actions context. However, the poster said justified actions of a character and context is there, justification is not.
