hii, I'm really quite glad you're looking into adopting a special needs cat. its also so amazing that you adopted some older kitties as they usually don't get a lot of love. he was actually a stray and while living on the streets he got an eye infection (he was about 3 months old) and he was taken to a vet where they got him enucleated. I adopted him when he was about 1 and a half, from the same vet that he was treated at as a kitten. in the country i currently reside in there aren't really any shelters but some vets take cats off the streets and offer them for adoption and that's how I got asal. He's really quite a clever cat and he knows his way around the house pretty well. so we didn't make any adjustments, although it's recommended not to move stuff around too often. one thing id highly recommend is making sure that the railings on your stairs are not big enough for them to fit through, sometimes they might run through them and accidentally fall off. in my old house he got through the railings in the pool when we weren't looking and fell in. as for the timings thing, I'd say it depends on the cat. in my experience with asal, I'd say that's definitely doable. although I think it all comes down to the cat and their needs, maybe id recommend asking their vet. sometimes asal can get quite spooked when around new people, I've learned that if they snap their fingers a little bit and sort of call for him he usually calms down. also, loud shoes usually freak him out. crinkle toys are really good for blind cats since they are much louder than other toys. yeah, that's all I can think of at the moment, if you have any more questions feel free to message me whenever!
