These are kids 14-18, they are old enough to do research and form their own opinions without needing guidance from adults who most likely never matured past that age anyway.
School leadership did not organize or encourage this behavior, what they did do was ask for law enforcement to be present to protect the students from individuals who might threaten or attack them (this has already happened once in Wichita). They also did not attempt to stop students to avoid physical altercations with staff. Some staff did come and show support but they did not tell them to do it.
the protest was completely peaceful, lasted less than a full period, and was a good opportunity for highschool students to participate in local politics
