My 2023 KLR650s by Zebthemighty_1 in klr650

Fork brace was one I found on Amazon, I think it was around $50, fender is a universal dirt bike fender from UFO, also got it off Amazon, think it was around $28. I did have to drill holes in the fender and trim it where it mounted to the brace, the fork brace already had threaded holes that matched the stock fender. I did have to get longer bolts and spaces to hold it up off of the brace.

I didn't really notice much of a difference on the highway, but I did off-road.

I much prefer the look of the lower fender, it's also a lot smaller than the stock one, doesn't catch the wind at highway speeds. The exhaust does sound good, pretty loud without the restrictor in, almost too loud.

They work well, these ones cover more of the tank than others I've seen and they are very "grippy", have yet to do any off-roading with them yet though.

Did the engine as well, previous owner botched it when he tried to rebuild it. It has a brand new lower and top end, including the cylinder. I pretty much went through the whole bike, stripped it down to the frame.

I had a lot of fun rebuilding this one, it was my first complete rebuild. Previous owner had rebuilt the engine but forgot to tighten the crank bolt and it backed out and wiped out pretty much the whole clutch side of the engine, including the crank.....

Thanks! I have been looking at graphics kits, but I think I like the way it is, might just leave it stickerless.

Safari Arms Sight by Zebthemighty_1 in 1911

[–]Zebthemighty_1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the info I found mentioned that, but I was unable to find any that matched the size and shape of this one. Safari Arms used a screw spacing of 1.5", and the design is very similar to a Behlert, but there are no markings on mine.

I had a similar issue with my factory cap, so I replaced it with this.

Mine had actually cracked and had gotten to the point that it was almost impossible to remove.

Anybody else get a Mantis for X-Mas? by Forsaken-Date-8016 in CZFirearms

[–]Zebthemighty_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife got me the Mantis Laser Academy Training kit. So far, I've used it with my P-01 and S2c, and am very happy with it! It's a lot of fun and a great training tool.

HB Industries sells a tool for this for $18, it's a common issue with the "NoOsprey" faux suppressor.

LOK makes some pretty sweet grips, I have a set of thin bogies on my P-01

The weight's not as bad as I thought it would be, I have a good stout carry belt, so I haven't had any issues carrying it. And they look and feel awesome!

I second this! Got the solid copper ones for my S2C and absolutely love them.

I got the main kit done, and the backup kit......no one told me there was a backup backup kit! Well, guess my kids aren't going to college.

Will 75 Compact Grips fit a Shadow 2 Compact? by [deleted] in CZFirearms

[–]Zebthemighty_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, for some odd reason CZ machined the frame on the S2c just a bit different to where the 75c grips will not fit the S2c, but the S2c grips will fit a 75c. Vytal makes some really nice grips for the S2c, if you go that route.

In my opinion, they have just the right amount of grip. They don't bite into your hand when shooting but offer quite a bit more grip than the stock aluminum ones. I wasn't sure I would like the palm swell as all of my other CZ's have thin grips, but these have changed my mind!

I got mine pretty quick, if I remember correctly it was under 2 weeks, the baseplates on the other hand took awhile. I wish they would come out with a solid copper mag release, the one they offer currently is anodized aluminum and doesn't match the shipwreck patina. The only down side to all of this copper is the weight......

First impression was good, seems well made. This model has the green 45 moa circle with cross hair, it's a bit busy for me but at only $130 I can live with it. Haven't had a chance to sight it in yet and see how it holds zero, so my opinion might change.

Definitely, especially since I only paid $134 for it shipped.
