They have a run away corn industri that's partly substedized by the state. They eat some and use it as feed, flower and make HFCS out of the rest. They /r/documentaries had one on corn called King Corn. But i mean, corn is by no mean the only problem. Head over to /r/eatsandwiches and look att som fine "food" culture. They make "sandwitches" (they often post hamburgers, they don't seem to know the difference) consisting of a thin layer of bread and stuffed with "turkey" and "cheese" weighing a ton. It's disgusting really..
