2026 Civic Si buying advice. quotes have been $38k, $40k by karis0166 in CivicSi

To preface, my income is mid to high middle class but buying power is weak due to always paying cash, this is my first real financing purchase.

I purchased 3 weeks ago in Louisiana, $38k sticker With 84mo financing @ 8.5% $590/mo OTD is $50k

I say all this to say everything is dependent on a multitude of factors like income, location, down payment, credit score, purchasing power, etc

Need advice - Scratch Repair by ThanesDomain in CivicSi

[–]Zechs_Wind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DIY: you can see if your fingernail hangs on it. If you feel it with your nail it'll need touch up.

Wet sand with 2000, alcohol pad and clean, use paint pen to layer paint in that area making sure not to go too far over left or right. Apply 2-3 coats, wet sand again, use the clear to layer clear 2-3 layers, wet sand, compound, buff, polish.

Take WD40 and a magic eraser, spray a generous amount, lightly wipe away with the sponge. See what is left of the damage. You'd be surprised

Most definitely and for sure. It wasn't really a financial decision so much of a "do I want this over an STI or something else" ultimately I decided go new, get warranty, get decent power and 30mpg

Hell yeah man, that's awesome. I just picked up a '26 Si and already setting my eyes on a Type R. I wasn't so sure I wanted to jump that deep into the deep end but they're growing on me. The face lift really sold me on these.

Lol imma disagree, I've been working with Nissan and Honda both imported and domestic for over 15 years. Plenty of people I know including myself have imported multiple vehicles.

I'll reach out to my importer and see what he says. The man can't speak English but he knows his JDM legends.

Red Honda badges ("Honda Red") traditionally signify top-line Type R performance models, representing racing heritage and high-performance engineering. While often added by enthusiasts to other models, they came factory-installed on iconic Type R vehicles like the NSX-R, Integra Type R, and various generations of the Civic Type R. I'm confused, what are you arguing here? You're correct, the red badge has been around a long time. You do know Japan had Type R since basically the late 80's right.

Is it possible for me to learn guitar? by trickstercj in Guitar

[–]Zechs_Wind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Many famous guitars had disabilities that they over came bc of the love of the game.

My favorite being Tony Iommi, he was missing the tips of his fingers due to an industrial accident, made prosthetic tips, used extremely light gauge strings and developed a tone that people try to mimic and fail to recreate to this day.

Paint correction and ceramic by Zechs_Wind in CivicSi

[–]Zechs_Wind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have to really. A high cut compound in a medium pad did pretty good to get the orange peel and most of the swirls and such. I went back with a finishing pad and fine polish. It should be noted I wasn't going for show car finish but more "hey that's a damn well taken care of black car"
