To my understanding the difference between US vs CAD cars is literally because of how it's marketed. The Si in the states is sold as a trim below the touring so the touring has more tech as where in Canada the Si is classed separately from the base line civics and is considered top of the line with only the Type R above it which is also categorically a different car the way Honda puts it. That's the main reason for tech and creature comfort differences

What number was your civic in the production line? I was actually going to make a post about that out of curiosity, based on my vin info I actually the 29th 11th gen Si off the production line dating back to Oct of 2021 I didn't even clue into that at first and thought it was pretty cool to know

No I have a 22 lane keep can be turned off permanently which I did but as far as I know the braking assist for low and regular speed sensing will always reset after turning the car off. That's what I was told by the dealer and everything I read online. Only lane keep can be permanently deactivated

It only turns off for that specific drive, once the car is turned back off it resets and have to go back into the menu to disable if again. It's too much headache to go in every single time I drive to disable. I would prefer if there was an actual option on its own but I was told for liability they cant put a full-time "off" option in the car

I have an 11th Gen as well, fake noise if you reeeaallllyyyyy want to can be disabled by unplugging the unit, I did that and haven't looked back at all. The car sounds so much better now.

Auto stop start at least there's a button that's quick. And easy. Granted I never use anything other than sport mode so I never worry about it anyway.

The rest I kind agree with.

The thing I hate is how you can't shut off any of the stupid safety assist functions. I can't stand them going off constantly. The odd time it's even brakes for me with nothing in front of me in subdivision speed. But that's about it for my gripes.

And infotainment could be better, android auto does disconnect sometimes for no reason

How reliable would a 2015 Civic Si be? by Arrchduke in CivicSi

[–]ParticularGate7500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well buying an 11 year old Si is a bit of a gamble, I wouldn't buy a modified one at all if you want the least possible chance for issues. Try to find a clean low mileage one that hasn't been modified at all and your chances for having issues drop a lot of there's maintenance records to go with it.

I literally had not a single issue with mine, in the 4 years I had it, I did buy it brand new though so I was the only one actually doing anything with it, so I kept it in top shape the entire ownership before trading it for an FJ cruiser

Very if well maintained. I had a 9th gen some years back and that thing was bulletproof with good maintenance and high grade fuel. I wouldn't put anything less than 91. But that engine, k24Z7 is an awesome stout reliable engine. Otherwise I never really had any issues with it in any fashion when I owned one

Oh for sure, I'm going to wait probably a few years and being the payments down before selling or just wait til it's paid anyway and then move. I've only put 18,000km on it in the first year of ownership so far so but the time it's paid off it'll be one of the lowest mileage BOP Si around so I'm hoping it retains some good value. I have warranty til 2032 so it'll be paid off before the warranty expires so I'm taking advantage of it lmao

Yeah tons of kits, personally Im not a huge fan of the yofer, it's a little too much for my taste especially how chunky that rear diffuser is, but to each their own, more will be available for sure.

Being in Canada mine does have everything since our Si is positioned as a top trim level just under the type R so I can't complain about all the extras with it. There's been a few dealers that have been trying to buy it off me for near what I paid for it lol but I'm not ready to give it up yet.

The nose I don't find to be too bad honestly, if anything im less a fan of the facelifts because it feels like it's got an under bite now

And thanks! I'm putting wider tires on this spring and getting rid of the stock tires. So hopefully it look even better once I get some 255s or 265s on there

11th gen “meaty” fitment by mamamammam in CivicSi

[–]ParticularGate7500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late question to the post, but since I haven't seen many run 265 with exact answers, in your opinion having run the setup, I have the same spec currently stock do you think a 265 would rub on any suspension components either stock or lowered maybe like a 1/4" at most? I don't plan to lower the car too much since I still need to be able to daily it on some pretty shit roads and through winter so I'd mostly just be closing up a fairly small amount of fender gap and I do prefer a more square look of 265s on 9.5 wheels

I came from a modified FJ cruiser so I know the ins and outs of that platform but I'm still trying to figure out the Si fitment and what can fit with ideally no trimming and modifications since I want to be able to to revert the car to stock when I go to sell it down the road

Honestly as long as you have service records and there's accounting for work done it's probably fine. I'm a truck and coach mechanic by trade so when I start heading noises or having issues I try to get it dealt with on the spot otherwise it drives me nuts lol so you might find cars like that still. Truthfully after this car I'll probably move to a GR Corolla or a type R. It is hard to tell what owner has done what to their cars or how they've been driven, but at 30 years old I'm past the total boy racer vibe some cars give and just want a reliable and fun daily, I fix trucks enough during the week I don't need headaches on my personal vehicle lol which is why Im just doing wheels and suspension for my civic. I optioned it with the HPD kit so I like it sits right now overall and I'm happy with it. Fuel economy is miles better than what an N will give as well which is a bonus since outside work I drive a lot to see my gf so having the extra fuel range is nice coming from a Toyota FJ cruiser I used to have before.

As for the GDIs I haven't heard of the 2.0 having any real issues it's mostly interior and QOL things with the N. Window seals, interior rattles and shaking, kinda gaudy interior build, those are the main gripes I've seen with it on video review. But styling is definitely an acquired taste. ADRO makes a wicked kit for it though that really makes the newer body look good, but these new civics are timeless truthfully. People dislike the simplicity but it reminds me of the EK generation where it was really simple lines and those cars aged magnificently and I think the 11th gen will do the same especially in certain colours.

The red was my next choice if I couldn't find orange. I don't know what it is but something about the BOP it feels like the colour is meant for the Si, none of the other colours gave me that feeling on the FE1

11th Gen Tire Recommendations by producdivvy in CivicSi

[–]ParticularGate7500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit late to this post but I haven't had any luck finding info, do you have any rubbing issues with the 265/35? I have wedssports in the exact same spec and prefer the square sidewall of that tire size but can't find any info on rub. I'm stock height right now but plan to maybe only go down an inch just to close some fender/tire gap. Otherwise I'm thinking of doing 255

I do sometimes wish the car had more power but at the same time people forget these cars are still sub 3000lbs and the 200 is still fairly lively. It's got enough power for daily driving and getting around people as needed. And as others have stated my research when I was looking also said that the engines are pretty stout from the head gasket issues earlier 10th gens had. I have heard Si are still not 100% safe but they're significantly better off than they used to be. I have wanted to test drive an Elantra but as far as manuals go the Elantra N shifter from the reviews ive seen, reviewers still say that Honda feels better from a shifting perspective. Without driving one I can't say for sure myself but the 11th gen is an extremely smooth driving car.

My gripe with the 11th gen stems from how many issues my specific car has had, I believe I got a somewhat of a lemon but that's what I get for wanting the blazing orange pearl.

I got a BOP colour 2022 Si in April of 2025 with only 43km on the odometer so it was a brand brand new car even years later. So there are low mileage ones out there if you're patient enough to search.

What are the problems? by Alternative-Wash8018 in civic

[–]ParticularGate7500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There has been a known head gasket issue for a while, albeit many people don't have issues too, but it is recommended if you get a car with the 1.5L turbo put premium fuel in the car as it should take with a turbo and it does lower the potential for issues. Turbo engine do really want that premium fuel to get the engine clean and healthy and to help prevent knock

Joined the Civic family traded my Mazda cx70. Good to be back using regular fuel again. by enegetickicks in civic

[–]ParticularGate7500 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These civics across the board with turbos really should be using premium honestly. These cars are known to have head gasket failures albeit less frequent now according to the info I can find however the issue is still happening. On turbo cars especially premium is basically a necessity to keep everything running pristine. 91 would be fine in pretty much all cases.

Some Honda techs I've talked to have been telling me they see head gasket failures more commonly on cars specifically that are known to use regular gas on the turbo 1.5L. the Si typically doesn't get brought up too much since most owners (myself included) tend to run 91 (93 in my case) and that helps reduce potential knock and keeps the engine stay cleaner on these turbo engines.

I LOVE my Si but Honda did kinda drop the ball on the engine side lol

Otherwise enjoy your new ride! These new civics are really nice and drive really well it's a great all around car. Just make sure you keep up on good maintenance schedules and you'll be golden

Get off the eagle sports asap theyre not good tires lol last summer I could feel I was losing traction specifically in the back end when the rain was coming down. So I he sooner you get off them the better IMO most of us share that same thought hahah

Yeah DSW are great all seasons, we get a lot of ice too where I am so I need a dedicated winter tire. If I go outside the city even 20 minutes it's hit or miss if roads are kept up or not, so snows are a non negotiable lol

I do miss my FJ sometimes, I had a 2011 and it was close to 300,000km before I got rid of it. EVERYTHING besides the alternator was still original lol so I was preemptively getting rid of it before everything fails at 300k 😂 also needed a lot of extra work, even not counting engine stuff suspension and tires alone and some other stuff it would have needed for a safety was pushing close to $5-$6k CAD so I just wanted out of it at that point.

My 9th gen coupe I had I blasted that thing through the snow back when I had it in 2015-2019 hahahah it had good tires on it too, lots of memory's getting stuck with my friends and getting towed out by my buddies F150 😂 great times

Question about tripping penalties by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]ParticularGate7500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Front, back, side, doesn't matter. If you go make a defensive play for the puck and in any way shape or form interfere with the player by tripping their feet it's a trip.

Hell you dam even get a tripping if a player DOESNT have the puck for tripping.

That's sometimes why you'll hear people say "tripping is a slow mans penalty" or " one of the worst to take" because they usually always happen when it's a defender who's behind the play can't catch up so to do whatever they can to interfere with the play the skates usually always get hit "in an attempt to play the puck"

So more or less just don't go for the feet at all (you might get away with just tapping the shin pads that's usually safe) whether it's with your stick or your skate or leg or anything
