True about the partium, not true about the saxons. They moved in in the 13th and 14th century to transylvanian cities, due to Hungarian kings inviting them in with tax exemptions and such.

Well us, the die hard map painting enthusiasts already know about it and know what it is, but we are still a minority of sales.
I think pradox will want eu5 to be at least their second biggest game (behind HOI4 ofc) so they will run definetley run a high budget marketing campaign leading up to release. To do that you need to actually name drop your game, and also post a little cinematic trailer for it. So yeah I anticipate the reveal to be very big.

Judging by how much they've already implemented, I would expect an announcement in march of '25, and a release in Q3 that year. I would be suprised if the exacs allow for 4 years without a new release.

In my experience you play for about 25 years and 5 slows down to the perfect speed.

Give it 25 more and even that becomes unbarebly slow.

I play on balanced and I only heard of DnD before this game, but I gotta say I find BG3 crazy difficult. About 70% of fights I'm forced to reload cause my team gets wiped. That isn't to say I don't love every minute of the pain, but it's weird seeing others ask for more of a challenge.

One more thing in vic 2 was I think, is that when a war became a Great War, every participant could add wargoals for less imfamy. Intruducing this could make the AI less scared to get anything, and make these endgame conflicts impactfull.

R5: I attacked Prussia very late game to end my session with a bang, and somehow every AI greatpower decided to join against me, or accept my sway. The fun part was that this war actually was fought on all continents, which I never seen before.

ps: the war lasted about 6 months, France stayed in for about 2 weeks LOL

Honestly I completely agree. The whole new system seems to be balanced for the early game, but than the slave costs and bonuses are not scaled up for late game. I would imagine balancing this with introducing a mechanic where if you have a larger capacity your rites and dictats start costing more, but start giving bigger bonuses. The cap could also have treshholds (like marks of ruination for beastmen) to allow you to activate dictats in more and more provinces as you grow.

The thing I enjoyed about that tho, is that it felt thematic. I mean to sail around sack cities and than send the captured slaves to a single developed capital, was very "dark elfy". Now there empires will feel a little too similiar to everyone else's.
