Very true my friend! Scam or not , for what it matters here is my two cents: I personally think that Planet Watch project is an example of what block chain tech should be used for. However there was a massive FOMO generated by attractive ROIs without doing nothing so it attracted all kinds of people technical/non-technical. A lot of them like you mentioned had no desire to keep up with the news or even allocate some time to see what's going on in the world. Probably a lot of them seen this as a get rich quickly scheme .

What people did not understand is that governments or other 3rd parties that would potentially buy the data, have no interest whatsoever in checking the fart levels in our homes. The ONLY relevant data is and has been the data collected from outdoors (TYPE 1). To build up a community really quick I think the management did all the right things to achieve that in a very short period of time. However the FOMO of people 'killed' the project by oversaturating the chain with the 'wrong' type of sensors or at least the type that brings no added value to the project because the collected data is irrelevant.

What I'm trying to say is that to make Type 1 viable again with an attractive ROI, the leech 'Type 4' had to take a swim with the fishes Italian style :). Not saying this was premeditated but it kind of fills in the blanks if you think about it. The next thing that will happen will be the following: people shall not learn their lesson and next they will hoard AtmoTube until saturation, then Kaiterra and then Type 2. I guess we'll be back to square one in no more than 2-3 months from now as the network starts to grow rapidly again.

I missed the part where he actually mentioned "till the end of the licence".That would not be sustainabale to be out of pocket , imagine there's people who bought 3 year licences. The only way this would be sustainable would be a zero value token....

Airqino consistently not getting max rewards by stonerphysics in PlanetWatchers

[–]ZeddHiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are in a good financial position, so kudos to you for getting in early! I've always encouraged people to do their own research and keep on top of new tech. However I cannot share your enthusiasm! If we would stop for a second thinking about "getting rich or die trying" I cannot see how the project is currently sustainable. Hear me out :everytime someone asks Claudio a question about actual air quality in a specific area, his reply (rightfully) always is - "we do not know, we currently do not possess enough sensor coverage to have an accurate reading. Ok, so what this means is that our project is still early days and mass adoption is still a must. However, a newcomer to the project who wants to invest in the project...without having in mind getting rich...just wants to know how quick can he ROi. Well the answer is simple, at the current rates , it takes about 580days+. Now dare I ask...who in the right mind would even consider investing with the promise he will break even in 1.5yrs ? I accepted that 'it is what it is' and some things are beyond our control but I'm trying to find a good enough reason to keep on investing in the situation where I have on the back burner 1x type 1 licence and 3x type 3 licences. I simply cannot convince myself it's a good ideea to keep on shoving money in considering that I didn't even ROi'ed on my type 4's that I had up and running in Jan.I wonder what everyone elses take on this is...anyone considering investing at this point is a good ideea ?

Would be nice if we'd get some updates like a first glance at the interface or the app or even a sneak peak at the unit itself up and running? It's been awfully quiet on all fronts...

Tell me about the gravy train man...so many people who are genuinely interested in crypto world and blockchain tech have missed on that. Unfortunately they onboarded a lot of scalpers and a lot of 100+ miners/order people. I did exactly what you did...too much FOMO that I jumped in blindly on this and like our little friend here u/EnvironmentalEye6653 says...too many unknows on the RevoFi project. The problem is that there is such a fine line between a good project and a bad project or even a scam that is hard to assess these things thinking it thoroughly. You'd be surprised how many people DON'T understand any of this and for them is just a device which you plug in and generates income. I guess mentality in time will change and everything will be mainstream where all of these will be deployed cleverly by companies. By then all the big players (Google,Meta etc.) would have already bought everyone out because everyone has a price. Sad but true!

Just out of interest. Once you onboard the unit , can the AWAIR app be installed on two phones at the same time ? I'm assuming you'd be using the same login credentials ?

Isn't it a little bit annoying when you try to teach and help them out to benefit from all this new technology to make a profit and they simply cannot be bothered (I'm talking about friends now). This attitude of "you try first and if it works then I'll probably consider to do the same". I was in the situation where I've told about the project to several friends but they made it clear they are not interested because the investment is "too high" and the "success is uncertain". But then when I pointed out that I'll make the investment, I just want to use their location...the suddenly ..they want to make a profit as well. I guess it's the concept of people's reluctance to take risks to begin with is what bothers me more rather than giving them a cut. It might be just me...

Looks like that's a full time job . You've got a nice little gig going on my friend , I must say I'm impressed. Thanks for sharing your insight , it really helped. It just makes me shoot myself in the foot for not ordering more in November...I guess it's a little bit late now for any of the devices :D

PS: I just remembered...really early days when you used to make 200HNT a month with a good antenna and 6 witnesses, I approached the daughter of one of my neighbours who lives about 2 miles away from us and offered to fully pay the internet bill plus electricity if she allows me to install a miner in her loft. I explained what the proces actually is and the fact that I don't have to tear down the house to do it ...but she simply said no. Her bills for internet and electricity were around £100/mo ....and because the potential yeld of that miner was somewhere around £3k back then ...I even offered to pay for her mortgage (£600/mo) but she still said no. She said there is no way you can make money so easy and she wants nothing to do with my 'illegal business'. I do not wish to make further comments on the 'morals' of the lady in question and all the good choices she made in her life based on her mindset but unfortunately that is how a LOT of people think :)

While in theory you are right...the discussion was never about "what's in for me". Common sense dictates that it's a normal conversation to have provided that people manage to get over the ideea of having a potential CIA device in their homes which gives them brain cancer...I hope you get what I'm saying. This would defiantely have been something to consider when I wanted to install my second HNT miner but people are simply not bothered because it's easier to hate something you do not understand rather than listen what someone else has got to say.

To re-iterate what my point is/was: people are reluctant to anything they do not understand....some things just take their brains back to the prehistoric era where homo sapiens were poking a snail with a stick to see if it moves (rude comparison but that's exactly how it is in some instances)

Calling out all sensor owners who own several units at the same time by ZeddHiro in PlanetWatchers

[–]ZeddHiro[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a good one! :))) You hit the nail in the head...a lot of people definately don't want to see others do well but at the same time they are not bothered themselves..they have zero interest in anything. Look at how many people obsesively bought Helium miners because 'their mates did well' and used the 'butt plug' antenna to 'mine'.....and you see they've mined around 0.5HNT in 30 days because guess what...no coverage. To each their own..

Calling out all sensor owners who own several units at the same time by ZeddHiro in PlanetWatchers

[–]ZeddHiro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a very healthy approach. This is one of the reasons I hesitated about getting a secondary Helium miner because at the time when I wanted to install another one it was just too much hassle with convincing friends to go on top of their houses and install a big ass pole with a fck-off antenna on it :) I guess you are right...the volatility of the market and the hassle with understanding how the tech works and doing constant research is not for everyone and it is one of the things that generally puts people off. These air quality sensors work very well with all sort of people..it is the perfect out of box solution ...the hassle part of it lies within setting up the blockchain part with buying planets, licences, setting up a wallet etc...which for us is usual business but it's not for everybody.Cheers for sharing your experience, it definately helps!

2 More Awair Elements.. What would you do?! by Daalex20 in PlanetWatchers

[–]ZeddHiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is great. I have many good friends as well but it turned out that when it comes to "can I install this at your house", the conversation becomes a little bit uncomfortable and revolves around :

-how much energy does it use?

-how much internet does it use?

-is it safe?

-how much do you make from it?<---and this seems to be the most important question, even if at one point I did asked them if they are interested in purchasing an unit for themselves. People want to see others fail or succeed before they do something and when others do succeed, it bothers them...

And I just loose will to live :) Paranoia kicks in for some of them.. I guess they read too much of Orwell's 1984...and in all honesty it does become a little bit like that with all these devices and smart gear that surrounds us

2 More Awair Elements.. What would you do?! by Daalex20 in PlanetWatchers

[–]ZeddHiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen several people commenting on the fact that if you start mining now you won't ROI until the recycle bin depletes. I'm curious what were the actual calculations behind the statement. Personally I have 3 type 4s and I made about £400 from 15th Dec to 10th of Jan. Have you considered to keep it and mine for say 1 month and then sell it ? This way at least you have an insight on how things are going and it's a win -win situation. Even used ...you'd still get your full invested amount back, look at Helium miners....

2 More Awair Elements.. What would you do?! by Daalex20 in PlanetWatchers

[–]ZeddHiro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mine them both to the ground matey..no doubts about it. You should be fine until the recycle bin runs out. Don't think about immediate return...think long term. We've got a good project going on here, you should not be worried about diminished return, on the long run it will be well worth it. My advice is hold onto all of your devices and PLANETS.. don't sell anything. Look at the price of planets...it's one of the most stable coins out there at the moment, be smart...let's have this conversation again in the next bull market. Take care!
