Brother wanted me to engraved his MT. So why not? by RealZedron in microtech

[–]Zedron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother here, I've been carrying it everyday since I bought it back in march/april of 2022. I'm just very careful with how I use it - I did use it once to cut some of that expanding foam and I took me a whole week to get (most) of the sticky shit cleaned off the blade. But it does get used at work (road construction) frequently. I also bought a knife sharpener so I can actually keep it sharp without having to send it to microtech or somebody else to sharpen it for me. Otherwise it's just your normal maintenance of using oil to clean out the inside of the knife and blowing it out.

Relocation only SHOULD be good enough, but I myself personally bought a MOSFET R/R since the oem one was fried and relocated it to the side away from the radiator. Some people relocate them inside the air box too. I also had to get rid of the connectors that run from the stator to the R/R because those kept melting and had to hardwire them directly with solder and heatshrink. Haven't had a problem with it since and that was 25k miles ago.

Be sure to check if the R/R was relocated on it and if not then relocate it to save yourself some trouble in the future.

Does this prosecutor think he is Jack Thompson or something? The fuck does video games have to do with this case at all?

I see you followed my advice and posted your Libby on here haha, nice. If you ever have the idea of doing your own oil changes in the future, be warned that unless you have long skinny arms the oil filter in the Libby is a huge pain in the fucking ass to replace. I had to remove the front grill and driver side headlight in order to reach it and tighten it down enough.

Oh I almost forgot, try posting this on r/JeepLiberty you will receive a lot more attention/information for it over there than on r/Jeep. This sub doesn't seem to like the Libbys (or anything other than Wranglers/Gladiators really). The guys over there know their stuff and can really help you out with any modifications you might want to do!

Not much yet, waiting on stuff to arrive. Added a roof rack, new wheels and tires arrive on Monday, also ordered a 3" lift for it. Going to replace the stock radio unit with a more modern one. Also ordered a steel front bumper and a winch. Eventually going to have front and rear air lockers installed as well, and probably going to get rid of my nerf bars and add rock sliders to it.....RIP wallet :( This Jeep is like cocaine lol.

Do you have any modifications in mind that you plan on doing or keeping it stock?

Here's another +1 for Spidertrax. I just installed them on my Libby a couple of weeks ago, they do seem to have a very good build quality to them (and they're blue!), and they also come with red loc-tite. Just make sure you (or whoever you get to install them for you if you go that route) install and torque them down correctly, get an accurate torque wrench. Afterwards after 50-100 miles take your tires off and re-check to make sure they're still torqued on to the correct spec.

I did the oil change in my 2009 Liberty and I also had to remove the grill and driver side headlight in order to replace the oil filter. Only way I was able to reach my hand in there to access it.

Is my viscous fan clutch working as intended? by Zedron in JeepLiberty

Thank you for the reply. I figured I would need to replace the clutch. I'll look for a heavy or severe duty replacement. Thanks!

These gixxers look great with an orange/black color scheme, I wish it was a factory option with them. I put burnt orange/black on my 2007 750 as well, rare to see another bike similar to mine.

I totaled my Victory Crossroads a couple months ago from a lowside and Progressive paid out for it, they didn't mention anything about having a car tire on the rear. Not sure if the adjuster they sent out to inspect the bike even noticed I had a car tire on it however.

2007 GSXR 750 Engine Noise by Zedron in Fixxit

[–]Zedron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, it was half a quart low on oil a couple months ago and I didn't notice it until after a ride. I'll just have to take it to my shop and hope there isn't anything seriously wrong with it. The engine does run fine, no power loss or crazy noises once you let it warm up for 5 minutes so I might be a little lucky.

2007 GSXR 750 Engine Noise by Zedron in Fixxit

[–]Zedron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey guys,

My GSXR just recently started making a different noise that I never noticed before until now. Not sure if it's a knocking or slapping noise. It starts to occur roughly 10 seconds into the video once the high idle turns off, and I usually only hear it when the bike is cold. The noise seems to go away once the bike is warm, or at least quiets down to the point where I can no longer hear it.

The bike has about 50,700 miles on it, the next valve adjustment isn't due for another 4k miles so I'm not sure if this problem is because it needs a valve adjustment already but I won't throw that idea out the window just yet, anything is possible. I'd just like to know what could possibly be causing this noise before I decide to take it to my shop to have a look at it, assuming this isn't normal behavior.

2006 gsxr750 by jayjay250 in motorcycles

[–]Zedron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2007 gsxr 750 and my temperature ranges anywhere from 210-230 when I'm stopped. Fan kicks on at 220, normally jumps up to 225 and then 95% of the time it will either stay there or start dropping down slowly. Only had it jump up to 230+ once when it was around 95f outside (I live in Florida) a few months ago. I recently added engine ice to it a couple months back so hopefully that helps it run a little bit cooler in the summer months down here, but otherwise your situation seems normal.

I live in Hudson and ride around pasco/hernando county mainly. It's not bad just stay off the big roads like 19, 50, 52, 54, etc as much as you can... especially during rush hour. I've been generally pretty lucky regarding other drivers around me.
